Hey Jedirock,
The beam expander can take 200kw/cm2 and all visible wavelengths.
Two kinds of well anodized adapters were machined to fit PL-C head and laser pointer pen(@14mm) and would be provided along with the beam expander. See ths youtube video here: YouTube - 3x beam-expanders and PL-C Green lasers and Titanium laser pointer pens. It's a 3x beam expander. The test pics of the 5x beam expanders are here: Before; After.

Sounds good to me. What I'm mostly wondering if I could use it with my CNI PGL-III-C host lasers along with my PL-C, that would definitely help simplify things. From what I can tell, the PL-C hosts have a head diameter of 38mm. Is that right?

good news and some that, while not bad news, is news we need to know.

first all the good...

Our box HAS shipped-- I should be able to PM the tracking # for DHL in the next day or so. So I SHOULD have them re-shipped by the end of the month or sooner.


Here is what I do-- I put each buyers name on a post-it and randomly attach them to the PL-Cs THEN I do the metering AND TAKE PICS- so it is as random as I can make it. I feel confident they will all be 750mW +/- < 5%

Once you get your meter photo if for any reason you do not want me to ship just let me know- you will ge a refund and all you will be out is 1/11 th of the china to Texas cost which atm seems like it will be zero as I THINK , due to the delay Gray/Jetl is treating us on this-( cost to express can be as high as $100) -yahoo!
If that turns out to be the case you will get back 100% of what you sent me - less the cost of a USPS MO( i hate PP) ~ $1.90.

Those getting pl-cs can expect shipping to be around $20- med flat rate box/insurance/signed del. please send that AFTER you get your meter photo as a PP Personal GIFT or as payment owed for services... and remember- DO NOT put anything in the PP notes about lasers!). T Y-

This time we only had one PL-C in the 445nm and Gray says it averages 930mWs. not bad!!

last news one of the Ti pens is not quite ready --the delay will not be long .

So this is all good- as long as Customs/FDA/Homeland Sec. leaves us alone we will be OK.

Now the other updates--- sorry but 800mWs of 405 was not do-able- they all came out very close to 750 mWS-- not too bad IMO. Gray prolly would like to Sell them as overspec 700MwS. Considering that fact that we are getting them at a big discount via GB we IMO WE should be OKay with all that. At least Gray was and has been very upfront about everything.

Also they needed to change from one 18650 to two CR123 3.6v batteries. This explains some of the delay as JETL had to alter the drivers to take the higher V.

So you all may want to get some CR123 on hand as I am not sure Gray will be sending any.( a good idea may be for one of us to do a GB bulk order of CR123s) If they do they should send them seperatey-- never send batteries with the lasers-when shipping out of any country IMO.
please pm or post here with any questions or concerns atm I do not know if Cr123 chargers are in our box-- I will find that out asap.

Sounds good hak. If anyone's looking for CR123s for their 405s, AW sells them fairly cheap for good batteries over on CPFMP. Personally, I've already got 8 CR123s, so I'm definitely set for them.

I want In on gb4... U say it'll be after u get everything from #3?

^^^ Thanks for that Jedi--btw anyone here SHOULD join Candle Power forum- great bunch of like minded fellows. It can be a very helpful forum and sometimes a good place to sell any extra items you may want to convert to cash or do trades.
I use my same username as here- this helps to avoid any confusion. Same advice goes for that other forum and Photonlexicon. PL is all about professional Laser Show equipment and not so much about handhelds, in fact it can be considered good advice to not even attempt to do any posting on handhelds.

Show laser operators and laserists are VERY safety minded and frankly a handheld laser is certainlly more dangerous both to the eyes of people and to the lifespan of our 'hobby'. Most members of PL are NOT laser hobbiests. Many own no handhelds btw.

I doubt you will EVER read of any incidents involving laser projectors, just handhelds and the idiots who cause great harm to all of us. WE at LPF need to do ALL that we possibly can to stop incidents of any kind involving lasers.

Now that we know the 405/800 PL-C (405/700 in reality) will need two CR123 batteries I need to know two things-- how many do not already have a charger for these batteries.?

And if you do will you take a second diffraction grating in lieu of a charger???



When doubled up and/or rotated the EFX is even cooler. The value is about the same, in fact, the chargers can be gotten very cheaply if you dont mind waiting for them to come from China.

Gray has not responded yet to my questions about these chargers( 13 hr time diff) and for all I know the chargers are in the box that is already on its way or maybe he plans to send them with the Ti Pens later in the week(i hope). most chargers do two batts at a time.

Very close to 1W for my 445 you say? That is pleasing to hear! I do have a CR123 charger BTW.

Gray tells me that anyone needing a charger for CR123 will get one. They will be sent w/ the package containing the Ti pens-- shipping should be very soon.

Downside --I dont have enough CR123s to do a 'group photo' with all of them blasting thru the fog in my 'laser room' I think I only have 4 or 5 of them--boo hoo.

Unless you guys have no need at all for them I will still include a free 18650 battery with each PL-C. You wont hurt my feelings if you say-'keep it'!! JUST be sure you dont try to use it in your 405 PL-C although being a lower V than two CR123 it prolly wont do any harm(i hope)!! Gray also say there is or will be a video on YouTube showing the 405 PL-C i think its there under the name Jack Kuo?? I will check and edit if that is wrong-- meantime if anyone finds that video please post a link to it here.

No Thats what I would call them but 'officially' Gray has not mentioned changing anything but I think he prolly will- i'd be surprized if he does not.

Thanks Jedirock. Keep the 18650s for other portables and i' afraid you need stock two or more cr123 or 16340 now The label on the PL-C 405nm was 800mw and i would ask guys to make new labels soon. :beer:
Now jetlasers still owes the ti laser pens to GB3 and would get them shipped out asap, along with the cr123a chargers.:beer:

Regarding the videos, the Youtube account Here may update more timely. All power test videos for these GB3 405nms are there. The Alpha Power meter is awesome and helps a lot!
