Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Here is the lasest update from JetL...

Hello Len,
How are you doing this weekend?
I finally shipped a PL-E but in 445nm and i didnot wait for 532nm since it's slower. The internal focusing is not bad. Hope you like it.

I also shipped a PL-D PRO 635nm and the diode is no good for good beam profile. it is around 300mw i guess.................

i just intended to show you how pl-d pro looks like and how it works. A long hold(>3s) turns it on and there is no 50% or 30% option. A short click will cycle it between CW and pulse. And A long hold will turn it off - there is no standoff mode like in PL-D.

The 445nm beam is not that good enough and the blemishes was caused by the reflections of the beam upon the inner head parts which is also in silver.
Now this issue is resolved when we now begin to treat the inner parts into black color, so no worries. This is just a sample. We didnot push it that high and it was 1.5w without the focusing lens and now it is around 1.2w or 1.3w, i guess.

I just posted a reply to the GB thread you started and mentioned that we removed 500mw from PL-D Pro from 532nm PL-D pro options but added lower power levels like 150mw, 200mw and 250mw into the group.

150mw: 150$
200mw: 190$
250mw: 240$

The 445nm is okay with 2x16340 or 2x18650 or 2x26650 and sure for the former two types, the case reducers are necessary. You can try to insert the case reducer into the battery compartment, one side is more fit. You will see when you use it. The button top 18650 or 26650 is the right type for 445nm or 405nm which requires a voltage of 8v. Both flat and button top 18650/26650 fits the 532nm or other wavelengths which takes a single 18650 or 26650. I can ship u some 26650s next time.

We did not add either tec or fan into this GB#7 445nm PL-E coz we tested them without these forced cooling and they work well when they are left on continuously. For new GB (#8), we might release fan cooled 445nm. Hope they dont mind.

To ship the 445nm with decent but not attractive power levels, we now keep them in two options:
1.2w-1.3w focusable: 250$
1.5w collimated beam with fixed focus: 260$

I attached the updated pricelist in excel version and hope you can open it.

For 532nms, so sorry that it caused too much delay in updating to the lpm there.
Now 500mw is no problem and the tec or fan thing is not the main problem while the LD, the crystal, and the cavity length. As i mentioned, we returned the 20pcs of 2.5w diodes to shanghai nlight office coz they are at 805nm or so and no good as pumping source. They might have disposed of the stocked 2.5w to the Chinese manufacturers before they discontinue them for Chinese from July 1st this year. So this week we've been testing the lasers with the 2.5w ld made by this company: LD808nm??-??????????????? and the price is more than half cheaper. We did use their 5w 808nm ld for the 1.3w green laser module but their 2.5w proved to be only good for 200mw, 300mw or 400mw for portable. Probably under the pressure of the manager, our tech have been wanting to save the cost by enhancing the efficiency using these alternatives of nlight 2.5w and now it failured all expectations so far though we can also blame the crystal and structure but you know ld is the pumping source and matters a lot. So we quited the abovementioned laser diode and wait for the 2.5w.

We did lengthen the cavity to reduce the divergence but the efficiency lowers a bit now we tried to shorten the cavity and the power rises a bit again but it still has to wait for the right diode and crystal.

Talk more later and take care, Len!
Yours,
Gray

****************************

unfortunitly parts of the PDF JetL sent is still in chinese- and instead of 532nm the box to the left is green- thats fine but for the IR laser he has a pinkish color etc and that has me quite confused.

I will either try later to attach the PDF or at least translate the most important parts since so far no one in any GB has wanted an IR Jetlaser.. anyway.

Pics of Pro PL-E and PL-D will go up by Thursday..

SO ATM no 500/600 or 700 mW 532s-- if I read that correctly..
BRB w/ more info... hk

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

OKay some good newz

A box is in truck for del. today with one Pl-E and one Pl-E-- so look here for link to pics-- I am ATM a little confused about what exactly is offered as many changes have happened in the last two weeks- so until further claification just sit tight and wait.

I may have been wrong saying that 532-500/600&700 are not ready.

My batts are charged and my 'DHL__I AM HOME_KNOCK HARD'sign is in place..

Tonites pics will be mainly about how they look- im giddy about seeing to all new series== I plan to run both until either the laser fails or the batts are drained.
POwer graphs will be made but remember that these will be a 445 and a 635== so data may not be totally the same for others like 532--

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

oKay
Starting this post all over again (this time in notepad)-- my PC has some 'glitch' that locks up most everything and any text I am working on gets lost.hate when that happens.
This will be much shorter that the one just lost.

In the pics -- to show size.

Little guy in the front is a Ti-B followed by the old standby Pl-C and then the PL-D all three no longer being made.

Next is the new Pro Pl-D with telsacool tech to auto shut down power when she gets too warm- thus saving diver and diode/dpss from heat damage.

The big boy at the back is the new Pro PL-E -- a real scary laser that will be a must-have for the StarWars fanboys. It takes two 18650 button tops or two 26650s with the sleeves removed.

Take away the extension tube and it will run on two 16340s. Both new series use a three second hold to lite it up after pressing the soft tailcap button(on Pl-D) or hard one on the PL-E. Both have pulsed mode and neither have more than full power.

... no more power modes.

I like the silver gray finish- its nearly flawless, and the threads are super smooth.

The PL-D is fixed focus and the crown unscrews easily for adding the Beam Expanders. The focus ring is behind the front crown on the PL-E and is the slickest and best focus I have ever experienced. Very smooth and turns effortlessly.

You really need to hold this monster in your hands- and I cannot believe how cheap the lower power 532s are-- I would expect to pay much more than that just as a host like this.

For all I know the PL-E with its extension tube is the biggest (in size) laser available.
More pics later plus metering session.:drool:

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

yeah..

When I added the exension tube it was like the scene in 'Crocodile Dundee'--

compared with a 'greenie' -- "you call THAT a laser???(whips out the Pl-E) now.. here.. THIS is a LASER"

AFAIK you cannot buy a bigger one . JETL is sending me the ac/dc adaptor- the PL-E has a place to plug it in--no batts needed.

ALWAYS protect your eyes-- use only laser glasses./goggles-

sunglasses, welders glasses , super cheap glasses, etc are NOT good enough, and may even be worse than nothing.

Lookin' good Hak. You're making my jealous, since I can't get in on one this time around. :(

Really linking that host in gray/ silver.

ME TOO

Its already a special laser- and that color also sets it apart for all the black ones. However being that color on the inside had an unforeseen drawback that was not expected. Some splash is created by the insides of the cavity so the rest went are being re-done with black inside..

JetL also forgot to include the ac/dc wallwart for it.

My sample is focusable and its is super smooth and ALL internal( thats a first for me.. all other focusables are external)- they can only offer fixed focus for the highest power PL-Es in 445nm.

The reason they took the 500mW 532 ProPL-D off the list was due to the pump diode.
the 600 & 700 532s use a 2.5W(iirc) IR pump so they are OK.
PM for those with price confusion--they have changed a few times.

Hey Hak,

Is it to late for me to upgrade to a 700mw PL-E Pro without the beam expander? If this is an issue or will cause our order too much more of a delay that is fine, I will stick with my original order then.

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

N/P== thats a silver 532/700 right? or do you want black?

it works with two 16340s/18650s(BUTTON TOPS) or 26650s- you may be able to add a conducting spacer between the batts to make the needed extra length. The flat tops are just a hair too short. BUT take extra care doing that-- you do not want any shorts created by trying to mod flat topped batts. Jetl needed to return the silver ones so that the inside cavities can be changed to black-- the silver insides cause some splash. We have found that shipping with batts can be a BAD idea- so get them from me(18650s & charger can be sent when I reship to you)) or a member(like LarryDFW)- also Lighthound has fair prices.

Free eyeware is no longer included, but is offered at GB prices (1/2 off)

Yep, a silver 532/700mw PL-E Pro but no beam expander

Also you said that JetL forgot your wall power adapter, but they will be included when we recieve our lasers correct?

Thanks

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Ok
afaik they do not offer a BE adaptor for the PL-E Pro any way=just the new Pro Pl-D and older.
Next box coming will be our GB #7
I give Gray a complete list of all that should be there- so yes you (and I) will have the ac/dc adaptors....I have a bunch but always(for important stuff)like the one that 'comes with'
since it uses three sizes of batts you may want to shop for a multi one and I will see what Gray can offer. with yours. you can charge any batt with the right chatger wit silicon wire and four magnets. We need to see if there is a trick to removing the 18650 sleeve so the two fat 26650s will fit- I tried a gentle tug but..... I have n/p waiting for word on his.

more asap

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

Yes, the PL-E 445nm with extension tube is one serious size hand-held laser !!

JetLasers has done it again--created a quality product that goes beyond anything else available on the market in output power and features with PL-E!

Great host, respectable and honest output power ratings, the extended continous duty cycle made possible by the different battery configurations, AC-DC power tap, and reasonable price make the PL-E a very attractive product/package.
PL-E 445nm is something new, better, and different.
Choice of either internally focusable with minimum 445nm output of 1.2-1.3W or fixed focus with with minimum 445nm output of 1.5W is unique also

Duty cycle of battery powered PL-E 445nm is:
2x16340(<40mins), 2x18650(2 hours) and 2x26650(3 hours).

Re: Jetlasers GB #7 is NOW ongoing- LQQK

hi all, my real name is Panos (as my username) and i am new in this forums but I had start reading almost every day posts in this forum like a guest before 2-3 months ago.
Did anybody seen (measured) the exactly output power of this laser? (or an other laser of the pl-e series) ?

thanks :)
