I'm sorry I'm late to the game and don't know :(

Is the group buy over and there are no more lasers for sale?

Alias777 - Bernhard would like to back out (no harm, no foul, Bernhard !!!) and if you want in on this buy (yes, it is closed) then you can PM him, and buy his - he is overseas - are you ? If you are not overseas, you would pay him $130, and I would refund his extra $20 (since he paid $150.00) That would work out the best all around - Bernhard - does this sound adequate ? I am sorry I did not get a chance to reply to your PM yet - but will do so now :)

Is it safe to look at the dot of this laser like on a white wall?

Is there any IR?

Can you see the beam in midair?

No IR it's a direct injected diode laser...

200 mw is 200 mw as far as eye safety. You MUST use glasses even with a UV or IR 200mw laser that was completely invisible to the naked eye. Provided that you control the area and the beam is terminating on something non reflective, you can look at the dot safely as long as you stay far enough away from it. the closer you are to the reflection the less the laser will scatter and the greater the risk of damage to your eyes.

Beam should be visible. no problems outside at night, and inside it would be faint without fog or smoke.

So goggles are mandatory even when just looking at a non-reflective dot?

Do goggles protect completely, even if I shine it in my eye? Or only scatter?

Where can I find non-$40 WL laser and/or IR glasses?

there are different qualities of glasses.. the ones I got from laserglow seem to act as mirrors and you can literally see it bounce off the glasses as if nothing is penetrating!... of course we know there is or you couldn't see the dot through them.

A direct hit "may" save you with good glasses.... especially if it was momentary.

A laser that has IR removed should be safe to look at a non reflective dot.
The mere brightness of the green will cause you to squint or shield your eyes anyway as in a good laser, most of the light is green thats actually transmitted rather than IR.

I just go by the rule of thumb that when in danger of direct hits.. use glasses.. otherwise, I use them like sunglasses... if I'm so close that the dot hurts my eyes I use them... if I'm far enough away that it doesn't.... I don't.

Amazingly enough - YES ! They have custody of all the lasers at present, and are replacing the ones that were WAY out of spec (around 120-130mw) and supposedly "tweaking" or adjusting the others. Now - to put everyone a little bit at ease, I recorded all the serial numbers prior to sending them off - and recorded their output as well, so I will compare the hell outta them when they arrive. I have been given a shipping ETA of wednesday - that is tentative though, depending on how long it takes them to replace the WAY outta spec ones...

I am not sure if he has mine ordered on this order or not but if he does and IF he can repair my dead glowtorch that he has now, I will not need both so you could possibly have mine.

It may be easier to stay out of trouble that way..... but I wouldn't want to be turned into a Janecat. "verses a tomcat!"

Testosterone is a necessary evil..... otherwise the whole would would be Woodstock!.... ah yes... at last..... the age of Aquarius!.. ;D ...... where women rule the world and men are their pets!.... at least thats what Hollywood would love to see.

I wonder how long it would take for us to be completely overrun by terrorist after we had a nationwide neutering?

I also surmise their would be no laser hobbyist.... doesn't it take a little bit of testosterone to love the "force" in your hand?..... I don't see many women laser enthusiast......

Uh-oh...he tossed down the glove ! LOL !! My Kat is fairly devoid of testosterone - the exception being the normal amoun t found in healthy young women (She was recenlty given a full physical !) and she LOVES lasers - to the point of making me wonder sometimes if she is just sucking up and being nice (I do not think she has evolved into THAT much of a woman yet ! LOL) or whether she is genuinely interested. I know she caarries that CORE that she won EVERYWHERE with her - she absolutely LOVES it !
