I haven't been able to fully test it with a laser or galvos yet, but it worked very well when I tested it with audio files. Once I get the galvos set up it I'll know more.

I found a DAC called iShow for like $50 on ebay due to that price i believe it will be no good. Wandering if anyone has experience with it? Even just beamshows 'cos no ones expecting beatiful graphics with the galvos anyway.

From what I have read on PL, ishow is bottom of the barrel and no one really prefers it. But, I don't have any personal experience with it.

I read the same but in all fairness we aren't investing in high quality equipment here so I figure start at the bottom with bare minimum and see where I end up.

Ishow is shit, dont get it.
I got the DAC from Drlava on Photonlexicon.
you will also need a DB25 breakout board ($7 on ebay) and a DB25 cable (only if you dont buy RIYA DAC)
and here is a website that tells you how to connect everything Laser Show Resource Guide - Projector Connections article - Pangolin Laser Systems
if you want to add more colours you will need Dichros and mounts.
