AAhhh...that did shed some light on the subject. So I guess the multimeter sends just a small signal and looks to see if you are touching the same wire contact.

Tomorrow i'll hopefully get this and the two switches worked out, and soldered up. Pretty sure I have the power switch figured out and it should work to power everything from one wall plug and an on/off switch.
Perhaps if I feel confident enough of my progress i'll post some pictures of my build so far.

Man I wish I had been around for this! Just bought some 20k's from SpaceLas instead. What DAC's did you guys end up using by the way?

most users use sound card dacs.
or a riya dac.
