Shit. Should I be ready to be disappointed?

How do you install the RIYA drivers? When I to run the driver files they open in notepad.

Device manager --> right click on the ? device --> properties --> install/update driver --> browse computer for file --> nav to driver folder on CD

I just did that by memory so if some of the steps are off sawwie!

The drivers are on the DVD.

Go to your device manager, you should see a RIYA device under COM ports. If you don't go back to your control panel and click the add new hardware icon after you have plugged the DAC in. It should scan and find a new device, I think it said Laser control or something like that...
After that tell it to install from a specific location, then choose the driver to install (or something similar, can't remember the exact prompts...) You should get a file selection box, navigate to the RIYA Driver folder on the CD and then pick whichever OS your running. Once you pick the right OS folder it should pick the file on it's own. Then click OK and let it go.

Somehow I got extremely lucky, I just plugged the DAC in and told windows to find a driver and it did. That in itself is miraculous, but what makes it better is that I'm running XP64. Nobody makes drivers for XP64, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it will work.

Those will break the bank, big time.

40's would totally break the bank... I might be willing to try and get some 30's for the neighborhood of like 180-200..

Good 30's or off brand 30's?

BHwollen, all 0's. Shouldn't matter though, I think the DAC overrides the dip switches.

Someone should make a tutorial on how to use the software. I am so lost. I cant even get it to work. I don't understand half the words. I FAIL at life... :cryyy:

Edit: sorta figuring it out.

Good 30s: ~$300
Offbrand: ~$200

Worth it...? I have no idea.

Relax, It's a learning curve for us all. Just press buttons till stuff works, it's what I've done so far and it seems to be working.

Check out some of the sample shows on the disc to get your stuff running faster, then when you have everything set up good you can try making your own stuff. There are user manuals and tutorial videos on the DVD too, though I prefer the push random buttons method to reading those...

When I use software to run the scanners I'm having to reverse the polarity of the modulation, Its reverse of what the DMX board is giving. I am getting pretty decent projection at 14000k at the default scan angle.
