Got mine today... nice shipping job!

getting all set to make it do something.

Scanner unpacked on the table.
Got a power cord to sacrifice.
got my neighbor willing to help me drill out a big round CPU heatsink.
Soldered the Yellow wire back onto the POT.
got a nice stable 3 volt 1 amp power supply for my pointer.
and I have my 150 mw pointer to sacrifice...
ummm wait... no, i don't.
Where is my pointer?
Come to think of it, where is my EVERYTHING?!?!?

Apparently, my wife had my son "straighten up" in or office a little bit. Just like in 'She Blinded Me with Science'

"She's tidied up and I can't find anything"

to be continued...

im at work and dont have it infront of me but... On the power supply there is 3 screw terminals that are open. Get a 3 prong A/C power cable and clip the end off. There should be a black/white and green wire inside. I believe on the power supply terminals say [+12v] [Ground] [-12v] [FG] [L] [N]

FG = green ground wire
L= white/black
N= black/white

Black white dont really matter since its A/C power. Hope this helps

Plug her in and flip the last two dip switches on.

Here:

I cut the female end off of an old laptop power cord that I found in the garage and stripped the rest to what you see there. The other end just plugs into the socket!

*Burnt* a mirror??? Did you focus a really strong 405nm on it or something?? That doesn't really seem possible to burn a mirror... at least not easily hahaha

I didn't even know it was possible to burn a mirror. I aimed a 2W 445 at it, next thing I know there was a grey mark in the middle of the mirror.

What it the pot for?

WOW. That's awfully strange. People replace their mirrors all the time, not sure its worth it with these 15k scanners though. Size and weight of mirrors play a major role in the output.

Were you trying to focus 445nm while shining on the mirrors?

I got the sound active mode to work, my DIP switches are all off except for 10. Some pretty cool sound reactive animations there, for example a horse galloping. I've just tried blowing into the mic so far but from what I can tell the horse gallops to the beat. There's some other stuff too; an archer, eagle, a guy walking or something....

This is gonna be fun!

Anybody else figure out the other switches?

you must have hit the mirror with the focal point. Next time focus the laser on a wall far away and try to get it as coherent as possible, next you can align the beam on the galvos.
