I have no doubt that if I had one in my little hands that I could make a barrel around it. Might have to be bigger as a result. but hey. it would work.

I honestly think that the way to go will be to purchase the optics and assemble them (with glue or screw rings) inside the barrel itself.. This allows us to open up the optics and remove some of the light that gets stopped by the lens and the lens holder and actually be able to utilize it. Here's an experiement for all you with laser power meters to try. Take a laser that you own, that has a known output. Now remove the lens from the module and shine the light from the diode onto your sensor trying to get it all on there. For every laser I've tried this with I see a MARKED improvement in output power. I will use for an example a 200mw red. remove the lens and shine all that red light onto the sensor and I instantly achieved 250mw minimum.... Well, you try it out and you be the judge.........

The way I was going to do it, is to drill out the barrel cap to 1/2" (like my heatsinks). Then mount the complete Meredith module in there with a set screw on the side.

I think I would settle for the Meredith focussing knob sticking out the front. (same way it is mounted in my heatsinks) Then use the rubber 'tail cap' aperture cover.

I'll probably do this with my next 803-T build, just to get 30% more power out of the blu-ray diode! ;)

Please keep us updated w/ this! I might want to do the same thing for the same reason.

I dont know how much I have missed, but as it turns out, for the third time, I stopped getting e-mails about updates to this thread

so I assume the drivers are here,

now to read all those pages...

Yeah they are here. I've gotten all the drivers packaged into individual baggies. Trying to find some help to fold boxes and put all the individual components into the boxes. As those that have gotten thiers know, I've gone a long ways to make sure I have nice boxes and package up everything really nice. Well, everyone will see when they get thiers shortly.

OK we have a state of emergency here. My Hard drive in my computer is dead and all the information on it is gone. Sadly that includes the spreadsheet of all the order changes and who I've shipped to already and who I havn't. Now some of this information I can get from google checkout but if I was supposed to ship the barrel to say deadal or install something. So what I'm going to do is ask for a very simple thing but it has to be precise. Pm's are acceptable. but it MUST have the header of "retelling the story" The reason for this is it's a unusual heading and I'll recognize it instantly. I've already got half of these barrels packed up and postage printed but am so unprepared for where they are supposed to go that I'm about ready to do the god thing. Toss em in the air and they will go where they are supposed to! LOL.

What is to be included in this PM is the following:
Name (first and last)
Address barrel is to be shipped to
any special instructions for assembly.
If the barrel has already been shipped.

I would like to trust that if I were to ship a barrel to someone that has already recieved a barrel that they would return it, but since I literally only have enough to fill this order I cannot take that risk.

So, I'm laying down this. I WILL NOT MAIL ANY PACKAGE UNTIL I HEAR FROM YOU. PERIOD. The sooner you respond to me the sooner you will get your order.

I know that there are some that don't check this thread or even come on the forum all that frequently so I'll be taking the time to go through the list and PMing those that havn't responded in 2 weeks. PLease I beg of you even if you have already recieved your barrels please PM me.

One a postive note I compiled my list of orders for V2 on a different computer and have it on a flash drive so that order information is still intact.

Dead to what extent? Can it still "hook up"? If so, you can use programs like Stellar Phoenix to at least save the files to a different locations. Other things you can do: put the hard drive into the freezer for a little bit (put in a sealed bag) which can grant you some temporary time to transfer data off.

But either way, we'll still contact you.

Clicks, grinds, and in no longer recognized by the bios.  it's clearly hardware failure.  And short of having it sent off to have the plates removed and the data extracted that way, I see no way of getting access to the data.  I've worked for a computer repair shop and have had my run in's with this situation before and am 99% sure there is no way to save the data.  I would like to thank all those that have sent on utilities to try to save it though.  Very generous. As would I like to thank those that have replied with the specified information thus far. Spot on as the british say.

Nice to see that some people can still follow directions.

Hey Kenom, You can get the data retrieved by a data recovery company, but it will cost you.

Same thing happened to my harddrive. Clicks, Grinds, No bios recognition. I sent it over to a certain company (dont remember the name) and they were able to recover SOME but not ALL of the data.

Sad to hear this, as losing a harddrive is a pain in the @$$...
