Kenom,
Just a quick note. For using the 7135 you only want to use one li-ion battery. So you might want to think about offering dummy cells with whatever you decide on.

Put me down for 2. If there will be a driver for a bluray diode and a senkat gb diode in this housing, then that would be even better.

Re: GB feeler laser barrels

I'm going to try a simple cadd program to see if I can't try and draw up what I've specified to the manufacturer.  I've never used this kind of software before so please bear with me it may take some time!!  LOL  Right now the manufacturer wants $400 for the startup cost. which includes cadd designs and whatnot. I'm not going to commit that money until I know we've got enough interest. (although it's hard to convince folks of the quality of these without it!)

So far I've gotten everyone in the list above.  IF i've missed you my apologies and give a holler to my pm to let me know I missed ya.

I'm still working on finding a good source for the Bluray drivers.  As we've all found out it's not so easy to find premade drivers for the bluray.  I might have to talk to an electrical engineering firm to have something built for this.  Would sure be a hot item.

For those of you who have gotten to know me I strive for perfection in everything I build and looks are just as important as quality of the components and construction of the unit. I've stressed to the manufacturer that I will settle for nothing less than the best. So you can trust that this unit is going to be a quality unit.

Re: GB feeler laser barrels

I'd love to get one. Cant beat a deal that includes a driver (which I suck at making myself :'( ) Id sure as hell shell out around that price for a case + driver...It would make my life easier just to pop in the GB diodes and have it working. I'd like CR123 I guess.

So you'd like 1?

Re: GB feeler laser barrels

It's easy to add a little length to a CR123 if a housing is designed to allow RCR123's, but not so easy the other way around. If people are thinking 123's, that would be something to consider.

Count me in for 3.

Count me in for 2. I prefer CR123 or RCR123 housing like the sonar.

*edit* Sorry. Count me for 1 currently instead of 2. I might pick up another depending on how the design turns out.

Count me in - this solves so many problems I don't think I can count them on my fingers ;D

Re: GB feeler laser barrels

Ken, I'll take two...CR123 would be a preference.
if you need help with Cad let me know....
I use AutoCad. If you want to send me some dims that your considering I'll rough one up this weekend.

Yes, I'd like 1. I want to get 2, but I cant. If you want to sell extra drivers to me however, I'd love to get some drivers as I suck at making my own that fit into flashlights.

Re: GB feeler laser barrels

Hi !

I'm new here, but this laser barrel decided me to register ;)

Dunno how to pay (I'm in France), but I soon as I know how, I will !
I'm very interested in a bluray laser, with AAA batteries.

BTW, would NiMH AAA batteries work with this barrel ?

Thanks for this great idea !
Ray.

No the barrel was initially designed for AA's or 14500's which are the same size as AA's.  But the general consensus appears to be to go with the cr123 design.  This will shorten the barrel a little bit and increase the inside diameter a bit but not the outside diameter.  Once we get enough interest I'll setup shipping prices and ask for money from everyone.  No need to commit cash until we reach the 60 point.  but at the rate we are going we should reach it soon.

Senkat is trying to convince me to offer a package deal for multiple barrels.  IF I end up doing that I may have to jack the price up a teenie bit for the singles. $2-$5 but the benefit will be if you wanna order more than 5 of these you can get a discount on the cost.

One thing I should mention before it gets too late in this.  The barrels are all we are getting right now with a lens and tailcap clicky.  The drivers so far are not included with the exception of the driver mentioned above with the 7135.  Those are setup for above 3.4v so you would need to add resistors to the circuit to bring the current down as it is.  2 cr123's will be over the 4.5v max this thing takes so I donno if that is going to be a good circuit or not.  I'm still deciding.  If I do offer circuits they will be in ADDITION to the $30 already quoted.  I can say this.  they won't be expensive for the driver when I find them.

Please don't get me wrong.  I'm wanting to offer a driver in each of these but right now finding the right driver is still in the works.  so what your looking at so far is just the barrel.  At a future date I may include the drivers.  I will have two options for drivers already to go with this and those are

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4451 (i['m currently testing this one)
and http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4255 is another I'm looking at with some modifications

If anyone knows some electrical engineers or whatnot that wants to help design and build circuits for these lemme know. I'm looking for 3-6.5v input and current for both the bluray and red laser diodes.
