Just got mine today as well!
Everything is great.
Took me a minute to figure out that there were extra pieces that join the host together.....I got worried.

Now i've got to get some blank pc's tomorrow and work on the switches

HA HA. Yea i Wrapped the Piece in that white Tissue Papper because i dint want them to get scratch.:D

YEA I though you guys Would have noticed in the Pictures that there is that Gray Piece that joins them together.

Its very easy.

A Little Tip for all:

First screw that little connector on the front half then align the Clip with the Hole for the Push Button.

Then unscrew the the Front head while still leaving that Little piece in the same spot on the back end.

Then Press it in.

The reason why you want to do this is so the Clip and the Button Line up together. I mad a mistake the First time and just pressed it in without aligning it up and the Clip dint Line up with the button.

Its very easy to push in. You dont even need a vice.:D

Cant wait to see some build in it. Hope someone does a 445nm in one. I think that will be the First NewWish 445nm build.

I didn't realize that trick until assembling 3 hosts without the hole and the spring aligned. Oh well.
As soon as my drivers arrive, I will make a 5mW laser of every wavelength I can find. To start I plan to construct 685, 660, 642, 635, 532, 445, and 405nm lasers, but I will add more as I find new diodes of new wavelengths.

Hey It is Very easy to take apart and redo it with no damage.

Just Screw the Top half on tight and wiggle back and forth slowly and not too much.

That sound Awesome. Where you getting the 642 from.?:D Sound Interesting.

Thank you for the tip. The 642nm diode is a spare HL6385DG from Opnext.

Cool. Dont want to drop that much on a diode right now.:) But awesome. I can wait to see your collection when you are done.

I'm going to build a 445nm with a jib driver.

Not sure how high you can drive a 445nm diode with 2x10440 though.....
Hopefully it can push over 1W

Yes, I am only waiting on the drivers. However I do not expect to finish as soon as I receive them since my life is extremely busy when I am not perpetually browsing the forums.

To those who received their hosts: If you plan to build something soon, please post all the steps you followed to assemble the laser :) It's not so common to turn a pen-style host into a laser. It would really help me and the others in their projects :D

I put one together with an LPC-826 for a quick test today. Everything works well, and I will post pictures and tips of the construction soon.
