No need for knife edging, you could probably get away with a PBS and some mirror stuff

Would need a waveplate to PBS - And then can only combine beams from the one diode, knife edging allows you to combine more than two and still PBS some in as well.

Well, from you post I thought you ment one single diode and not multiple. With multiple diodes your statement certainly stands true.

Edit: Also, don't most PBS also have a waveplate integrated?

Podo stuck a beam expander on one and it made the beams parallel- even without that, simple beam steering mirrors would make easy work of knife edging these. It would take a bit of creativity, but its certainly doable.

Okay ,

So 462nm are not available yet. Out of stock currently.

I can offer now a 1W 520nm diodes for around $270 per diode.

Well that's what got me thinking about combining them! Having the beams parallel would make it a little easier. Expand, combine, pass through another telescope to get the diameter back down. Some cylindrical lenses would be nice to make the spot a little nicer. This thing is going to be lossy ...

Anyway - back on track! :)

Could we maybe stop adding every diode that comes to mind? I thought this was going to be a realtively quick group buy for 515 diodes (and lenses, Eitan providing).

I sometimes forget about this buy and sometimes think im too late.. Till i look and its still going. Ide be interested in a watt 520nm but thatll just complicate things. Seperate diode group buy threads would probably be better!

From what I can tell, the joker's supplier is giving us a good price on diodes not contingent on quantity, so it doesn't make a difference which you order. But I think most people are just in for a 515nm or two. Just note it on the spreadsheet if you want one. I doubt it will complicate things that much.
