that sounds awesome, but I'd have to be in the laser show business, or rich, to justify spending $1600 on a laser. Unfortunately neither is the case :)

I'm not sure how you're going about purchasing these, but European VAT tacks on at least 15% to anything purchased, unless you're going through very unofficial channels. You might consider finding a US resident to purchase and then ship the lasers from there as a "gift" (but pile on that insurance).

For me, I'll just wait until the day that DealExtreme gets some blue lasers. Though I'm not holding my breath.

Last I checked, 1 Euro =$1.48 US dollars (as of 11/20/07)

So, E1100 x 1.48 = $1628

and
E460 x 1.48 = $680.80

Shipping:
E68 x 1.48 = $100.64
and
E55 x 1.48 = $81.40

For a total of
$1728.64 for the blue
$762.20 for the green.

Good point really, customs slap an invoice for 19% VAT here on things this expensive being imported. A package from DX with 'led flashlight $10' usually makes it through unbothered, but these packages will be bigger and probably insured for the amount indicated.

Sending things as a gift of sample no guarantee to avoid customs applying duty anyway... contrary to popular believe, europeans don't get to giftshop taxfree overseas unbothered ;)
