Re: GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES

From my own experience, I would suggest that you want the the diode pocket diameter to be:

NO MORE than 0.10mm smaller
NO LESS than 0.05mm smaller

So a good target diameter for 5.6mm modules might be 5.52mm, but it's important that your machinist actually know what these tolerances are.

For example, a 5.45mm diameter will be really tough to press into, and a 5.6mm diameter may actually be loose.

Re: GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES

Im in for 30 copper 5.6 modules. Is there any other price breaks? This has a lot of interest in such a short amount of time. Ask the cnc company about orders of 500+. I may even be in for more.

Re: GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES

Actually, add a 2 each of 9mm and 3.8mm ones to my order too.

So thats:

30x 5.6
2x 9mm
2x 3.8mm
all copper.

I assume thats what everybody will want.

Thanks.

Re: GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES

I got bored, and felt like being proactive,

I made a google doc spreadsheet with all the formulas and stuff. Everybody just add the info of what you want.

AnthoT, you are free to use this link as you please, its for your organization

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuZqxn-6rsqudDJSX0lpMmZnN1hCbXhTSVdPcmJ0SEE

Amazing! We almost filled up almost 350 orders in such a short amount of time! I think we should let this go for a day or two so everybody gets a good chance to see. And maybe an even better price break for 700 orders? :eg:

I measured some azix and found that they are smaller than 5.6, then I used my lathe and made a test stick that exactly fits the azix, and
I use this to check the pressfit for the 5.6mm diode.
I make it with a 5.5 milling drill, and just press sideways a little at the end to get 5.53 something(dont remeber exactly), and it works fine.

It's a nice price for the modules, and I think I might buy in the future

Not good for the drill mate ;)

AnthoT, looks like you really struck a chord here, >300 units in a day :gj:

We may be able to get even better bulk discounts!

Re: GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES

Ok based on the manufacturer the tolerances are 0.02+/-mm. So I think it's decent and for every diameter I made the press fit 0.07mm tighter then it has to be so that way it's tight every time.
If anyone has any other questions or concerns before I place the order just let me know by tonight I can still make changes ;)
if we can get to 700 the pricing would be the same because its below 350 the price is higher
Ill be adding everyone to the list shortly
Past 1000 is 1.50$ copper and 1.00 Aluminum

I guess at this point since its Friday I'll wait till Monday to place the order since that's the next business day so i can make changes up until Sunday night.

Pricing will only get better past 1000 ;)

Shipping depends on your location. Anywhere in Canada it's 7$ (tracked, insured)
Anywhere in the US i prefer using tracked and insured shipping (13$) if not then (5$)
Anywhere else in the world contact me for a quote

EDIT: everyone added to the list :D

Re: GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES

Is the back of the module threaded for the back part ? I don't need that btw.

I can get it threaded if you'd like. I've gotten other requests about this so I'll do that but only the front part will still be included you'll need your own back ;)
