Hello laserfriends!

It has been a while! This is mainly because my private life has been a challenge! I graduated, got a new job 10 months ago and now the department i work has gone bankrupt. I will move to another department in a week to start over again. The company really wanted to keep me so that is good news! Also shooting has become a bigger hobby for me. Which means less time for lasers/ commenting reviews etc... :yabbem:

BUT i want to change this again :) I am planning a few reviews and a possible GB for LaserBTB. Also i have a few sale threads up and running.

This would be my way for becomming more active again!

The main purpose of this thread would be a new GB. I have had a numerous of succesfull groupbuys in the past. And i would like to do one again.

Kevin has given me the green light to hold one. I do not have a final settlement on what lasers we could get but the 520 one is for sure. And at really great prices! I figure all the standard models are available again aswell.

Would you guys still be interested? :) I put a lot of effort in this sort of stuff and i said to myself i would only do it if there is enough interest.

Feel free to comment!

Greetings,

Robin

As a participant of the last laserbtb group buy, I'd definitely recommend that others join the fun. I think we should do another especially if it went as well as last time:beer:

Crikey, it's time for another GB?

I might be in for this one, not bought any lasers for a while but I might be willing to give another WL a try. Chances are I'd go for a 520 or more likely their 180mW 635 HL (provided it was definitely the single mode diode) as I need a good star pointer.

At the moment, it's a "maybe" from me.

Personally, the only way I will ever buy from LaserBTB again is through a group buy. they have just become too iffy, but when i participated in the last GB, everything went smoothly. I'm not sure if I will/would participate in this one, but like I said- this is the only way I would. Harder to botch a mass order then it is to just completely screw one person over.

You should def get a 520, makes 532 look like crap haha. and its awesome point them in the sky too!

I might get either the 515nm pen or the HL, depending on price (has to be the 515, not the 520).

I'd be interested on the 1W 520nm but the price would have to be very low (comparable to the cost of a build using DTR's diode).

Can someone explain how this all work, lets say the final order is for 30 lasers, so that means that laserbtb would send all those in one package or whatever to the person that hosts the break and later on individually send all lasers to those that ordered whatever, and who takes all risks if customs take them before or something?

not sure yet. I'd probably only like to get one and reds are far better for star pointing as you don't lose your night vision. If there's a BE for the HL then I'll be taking a BE and the 635 HL if the diode is single mode (which I think it is).

I was away from the forum when laserbtb popped into prominence, so I'm out of the loop, maybe someone can fill me in?

Do they sell anything other than builds we can do ourselves? IE, do they have anything unique beyond 532nm and the options we have based on diodes DTR sells in his ship? (Recognizing of course that laserbtb is selling full units)

First let me say i am really happy with all the replies! I did not expect to get this much respons at all lol :p so i really appriciate that guys!

You should look at the OP of GB4 here:

http://laserpointerforums.com/f55/closed-round-4-skylaser-laserbtb-groupbuy-86275.html

Basically you select the lasers you want at discounted price. Then you calculate shipping for your order depending on weight. And it gets sent to you straight away!

Losing a shipment due to the carrier or customs mean a reshipping of you purchase.

Awesome man! Love seeing GB vets coming back! It is a good sign :)

You mean beam expander? Dont think they have that. Never thought aboutthe contrast between the beam and the visibity of the stars! Interesting subject you brought up there.!

Sure! You can find info in the OP of previous GB's like above. I have done four in the past and people seem to like purchasing through my GB's because 1. The products are cheaper and 2. Because i do all the work in communicating with kevin, payments etc.

About your question. They have for example 808nm, 960nm, 914nm, 940nm. But those are all IR. And they used to have 473nm. But i believe they pulled out all real exotic wavelenghts. :( Just not a big market i guess.

I have not had a reply about the sorts. Might be because of the weekend.

Everyone have a good one

Robin

EDIT: also kevin has new style hosts! They are waterproof! I am getting one to review and to send to other people that will actually try it while diving! Keep checking the review section for that!

Interested to see the prices. I will mostly likely be able to jump in on this GB. :D Still have yet to see 515nm. Need to change that. :D

If you can get a bunch of the pens on the list I would be interested. They are nice and cheap, and as far as pen hosts go they are pretty nice. I like the HL hosts more, but the price difference isnt worth it IMO
