Hm, interesting. How did you correct it? Was the divergence before correcting much worse?

It was! Put of the module housing and spinned the first lense 360° deeper. Also corrected the focus with taking off the top and used the focusing function.

Oh My God! I made a typo-i had fixed it but the edit did not 'take'

hak you take spelling far too seriously, sorry to ruffle your feathers, but if you make a typo on a forum it's fair game as a joke goes, especially "god sellers" - Maybe it's just that I'm in nyc all the time, and seems like every other week someone tries a new cult pitch:p

I KNEW they did but is it $200?????? I looked and no price was shown at the link you gave us. So are you saying IF DD had a 500mW at $200?? .... As that was my point--not that they did not offer a 500 "The 500mW for $200-250 would be much more appealing."

Uhm, the link I gave led to the laser... with a price there. Here it is again: Firedragon 500mW 532nm Flashlight Style Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit(Certified Power Guaranteed) - DinoDirect.com

Interestingly enough, IIRC they raised the price. Last time it was ~$350.

The reviews posts on that 500 look to be written by the same person as the others
the only review I read said....
"Cons:the price is insane too eXpensive"

"six times as powerful as a red laser" used in both the description and the only review.

But the 532 for $149 and free shipping looks pretty good. NO glasses but they do give you a 18650. I am still in for one.

Its the laser that counts-- not the reviews or the description IMO.

hak - I was making fun of the reviews... of course they are fake and of course ultimately it's the laser that matters. (Note to self, hak = missing funny bone {That's a joke btw:na:})

@DJNY - Nice beamshots, definitely not bad for a $70 camera:beer:

Did you measure it? If it was really bad, i would measure it and RMA it... I corrected the focus a bit from 1.38mrad to 1.02mrad on my SDLaser by just unscrewing the focus adapter and cleaning out excess glue. :wtf: I'll look into some more reviews, if there are any.

EDIT: Wait, do you have the 500mW version? There should be different modules in there (I mean, not different construction but different crystals, pump etc.) so the 300mW might have a bit better divergence.
EDIT2: Just saw the post by RHD... Did you measure the divergence before correcting? (Sorry for asking questions all the time, but I'm really tempted to get one of these).

Hey guys,

Got some feedback from DinoDirect last night on two of our questions:

1. For return shipping details, they referred me to their RMA page. It looks reasonable to me (especially the part about them covering the return shipping fee)
Help - DinoDirect.com

2. As for the divergence and power guarantee, they will test that and guarantee that. They've also reminded me that if I am purchasing and reviewing a laser first, I can comment on the divergence in the review.

So guys, before I jump in there and order one for myself to review - are there 10 unit's worth of interest in this thread?

That´s interesting. Was told that I have to pay backshipping on my own.

1.Apply for a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization)Your item needs a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) before it is returned so we can
identify it. You can request a RMA in My Order associated with My Account.

2.Print a "Return Shipping Authorization" label once your RMA was approved, you can print a
"Return Shipping Authorization" label with return address and other information. A "Return
Shipping Authorization" label must be enclosed inside your package; you may want to keep
a copy of "Return Shipping Authorization" label for your records.

3.Return item to DinoDirect by regular mail with a tracking number, and we will pay the return shipping fee if it is our responsibility. If you choose other shipping method, we will only cover
a shipping fee estimated by regular mail.

Do not forget to upload Post Office receipt to RMA History associated with My Account so we
can track your shipping.

4.If you requested a Replacement, a new order will be generated once
we confirm your return. You not l receive standard email updates for the replacement
order.

That part concerns me. I don't know about Canada, but from the US shipping with tracking is at least $35. Which is probably a whole lot more than they pay...

EDIT: About 9 months ago I had this argument with gadgettown, basically what they told me is the max they pay is $3 on shipping, and therefore that is the maximum they would refund. At the time they gave me a $5 discount code, since shipping was ~$7 total and sent me $3 so I let it go. (Fortunately their returns/exchanges are handled out of Brooklyn, NY, USA)

I think what they're saying is basically "We'll cover regular postal shipping with a tracking number. But if you choose to send it via courier, we'll only cover up to what the cost of regular postal shipping with a tracking number would have been"

Of course, that's ^ my speculation only.

That's what I thought as well, when dealing with gadgettown. It was not the case though.

I would definitely ask them to clarify, I mean when dealing with a $150 laser, if it has to be shipped back for $35 and they cover only ~$5, it's not longer such a great deal...

Using the cheapest shipping can have terrible results. you get what you pay for.
Express is the not only the quickest but also the safest and the method that has the best chance of not getting opened/delayed by Customs etc. I have never had to pay for return Express shipping to China.

I hope that's true, because as a side-note, I have a return to DragonLasers underway, and trackable shipping to them will be $75 from Canada.
DragonLasers 589nm "50mW" - Very displeased so far (LPM: 7mw to 24mW)

The only lasers I have sent back to China have been a few from JETLASERS so G. L . with your DragonLaser.

75$$$ OUCH dat hurts.

They should offer you half your money back and just let you keep your half of 50mWs 589nm==

If DinoDirect is verifying them before they ship them out, I would be in for one up here in Canada.

here comes the amazing coupons, only a week.
check the thread

Cool :)

BTW - regarding this groupbuy, I'm going to be grabbing the 300mW green we've discussed here very shortly. I'll review it, post my results, and we can get a group-buy underway for those who are interested post-review.
