I did find a place that sells these for a price that's much easier to swallow than most others, but it still remains almost as much as a burner... not much interest at that price range though ::)

I'll just wait until they've settled down a bit... :)

I'm always interested in higher power - anything - but price needs to be considered. I don't get on here very often anymore - I decided I needed to actually RUN my business, instead of being a spectator! :) But if anything significant comes of this, I'm interested. I'm hoping for the day I can get my hands on a 200mW CW BluRay! :)

well, the other companies didn't respond, so I guess its out of the question. I AM arranging however, to buy sleds. I got my first few diodes out of a certain burner, and I have the sled model #. I also found someone who sells them. Ill be researching those, and the 115D/112D sleds. Ill do the math, and if reasonable savings come out, Ill start a GB.

I guess this one is on hold till I get a reply from the second company.

Count me in, but i have a favor to ask, when you start selling them, include an option to have two pins soldered to the + and - terminals. And also housed in an axis housing

dont count on it man, the first one said like $2000 per diode, and the second one hasn't replied to my e-mail

I HAVE however, found a manufacturer for the 20X open can drive sleds, and buying the sleds themselves in a GB format saves money, DVD drive parts, and the only harvesting you will have to do is remove the diode from the sled.

I will start that once I am done with all the other stuff I am doing (GB boards, LPF donation giveaway, etc.)

Dude. No BluRay diode is gonna be open can. The open can design is for high power diodes that tend to be tougher and better than most others.
And if you can find the 24x sleds amk, rather than 20 (as we want a little more than 200mw tops) I'd be rather pleased and in for a few.

I never said open can blu-ray..... when did I say that??

I was referring to the 20x Pioneer drive open cans.

I can get the 24x sleds if someone is willing to give me a sled model #. the model # for the sled is on the sled itself.
