Yes, it's manually updated, i know... I wonder how far it really is...
It's just that other BR GB threads grew quite a lot during this time..
BTW: You bought 10?!? Why not just go for a Blue Ray 4x burner instead? Or are you going to build and sell them?

If you use a driver, set to not more than 35 - 39mA and powered by a battery, they will probably all survive..
The only reason my previous two died was, that i powered the driver circuit from a PSU, giving static electricity a path to discharge.. From then on, i only use battery power...
It took me a while, to figure out why so many of my LDs were dying, when i was so carefull, always grounded myself, and used a capacitor directly on the LD. I thought they would be safe once in the circuit, and with a cap... But unfortunatelly they're not.. So if you use a PSU you have to have a grounded wrist strap while handling it, not just while building it..
If you use the LM317 and a 9V battery (or any other batteries with enough voltage) on the other hand, there is not much you can do to kill it, unless you set the current too high.
Oh, and don't drop them.. Even a one foot drop can make them completelly change their electrical characteristics in some rare cases. This is what killed my other one..

I was going to buy with a credit card gift certificate I had but it only has 44 bucks on it. =/ lame sauce, diode and aixiz module was the last thing i needed to put my project together. By the 13th of next month the value will drop another 2 bucks for service fees. Damnses!!!

Daedal is very busy at the moment, and the PMs here sometimes do funny stuff.. I've recieved several PMs, where the quote was from someone else, while the answer was for me.
It looks like, if he recieves a PM while answering to another, the quotes get mixed up, and it's even possible, that a PM get's lost... Even more people sending him PMs doesn't help with that.
I suggest you send him an e-mail. There is a contact link in the Google checkout confirmation mail (contact TBD)..
But you don't have to worry about it.. If you paid for them, he got the order, so everything will be sorted.
It's just that with two group buys at the same time, and with many other people asking about hundreds of other laser related things must really flood him...

Oh, you didn't make an order yet?
I've only used google checkout twice untill now, both times for the blue rays, and all the pages are encoded and secure.. It's pretty much the same as PayPal...
And i think, there should be some left.. I mean, the sooner the group buy is done, the sooner i get mine, but i'm sure we're not there yet.... If it was over, Daedal would say so here and prevent ordering on the page...

You'll have to arrange it with Daedal... In any case you'll have to send him the entire amount before the GB is done... Try PM or better yet e-mail...

No problem.. Sometimes we need a little encouragement, before we decide to buy.. I also needed it when deciding for a green laser.. I almost went for another 50mW, but decided to go for 200mW instead. And i'm glad i did it...
I would also like to know how far along this GB is, but it's not up to Daedal.. It's up to how fast enough people order.. The sooner the amount is reached, the sooner we get them.
But i do hope Daedal updates the progress bar. (hint, hint...)
