Got mine :san:

Haven't got time, right now, to play with them though

Dave perhaps you could let Theteslawarrior borrow those. He has a design of an attachment that can be fitted for any laser pointer. He just needs something to work with. Drlava didn't have any spares for him.

EDIT: His school has a 3d printer

I got my lenses and am in the process of designing holders. Yes, DrLava, I now know they go in front of the diode.

Patience is a virtue. I'll hopefully get a reply soon so I can send him the cost difference on paypal. I am extremely curious how a lens properly designed for a 445 diode will perform in comparison to other types of lenses.

Thanks to Dr.Lava! My two sets arrived this morning!

I already had the chance to make a simple set up - and yes! Due to the relatively big lenses they're easy to handle... and they really work!

Do some long range tests today... images will came later on...

Spartin ---
I asked DrL a question based on my experiences that beam correction, like a GRIN, were used in front of the diode before the focusing optics.
He replied that these lenses "don't go behind the diode" -- I stand corrected.

Sorry for conveying my confusion to you.

HMike

Does the convex output lens become a focusing optic over different ranges?

"don't go behind the diode"

You mean "don't go behind the colm lens right? Because to put the lens BEHIND the diode would be pretty hallarious, whats it going to be used for? A Driver
heatsink? lol.

So it goes

-----Laser beam-----{Correction optics}----[Colm Lens]-----Diode=Driver-+battery

Or

-----Laser beam-----[Colm Lens]----{Correction optics}-----Diode=Driver-+battery

Or

-----Laser beam------{Correction optics}-----Diode=Driver-+battery

Any Update on the rest of the second and 3d batch?
