Why not the 5mw core from wickedlasers? It's as close to 5mw you will get. I think I have heard them doing a good avg of 4.9x mw.

I don't figure a straight discount, but if you order straight from CNI, there are high shipping and other costs, and also, they know I always put them on my meter, so, I believe they try to select the higher output units, (cherry picked), and it should save $ as well! -Thanks

I´m also interested in buying an Aquarius-20

One question: If I buy a laser, do you send the laser immediately or do I have to wait until 10 other people want to buy the laser?

This GB is already started.

GB 8 will begin soon after we receive the units from this GB 7.

The way a "group buy" works is:
1. A manufacturer is contacted by the GB host with large order from several individuals.
2. The funds are collected from each individual and sent to the manufacturer.
3. Production begins.
4. When production is finished, all items are sent to the host, who then sends each item to it's appropriate buyer.

This way, shipping costs are low, and buying from a manufacturer cuts out the "middleman" or the distributor, keeping the prices at a minimum.

Glenn's GBs are very popular so the wait for others to get on is pretty short. Production time takes longest. If you need a laser now, it would be best to buy from a distributor like laserglow or dragonlasers.

Glenn:
Any word on the status of production, by the way?

I could be understanding you wrong, RA_pierce, but this is GB 7. I got my GB 6 order in before Christmas.

Anyway, so has Glenn sent the order in, meaning no more requests are excepted currently?

I currently have (getting ready to have) a $1000 to spend on any thing I want. So I could get an awesome laser, though I don't know if I want to save a bit more and get a macbook instead. :O Hard choice.

Oops. My mistake. I'll edit my post.
:thanks:
Yes, the order is already placed. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before it arrives.

I was faced with the same dilemma last year. I opted for an awesome laser from Glenn's GB AND a computer. I got my laptop for <$560 including shipping, taxes, etc.
Macbooks are nice, but what I have now does everything I need (and want) it to for less than half of what a Mac costs.

I've got another laser on the way with this next GB.

Whenever I need more money for things I want, I just work more/harder. ;)
