Your avatar thought it is better to go with its head held high before you delete and replace it with your GLP-60!!

LOL! Yeah, hopeful some WIN pics will come from that laser. :D Problem is the pic in my avatar was uploaded from another site by link and I can't find it again.

This is off topic, and if its a problem then just delete this post, but Ive always wondered why you choose that avatar, what did the writing around his/her head mean? or is it something that just appealed to you, or goes with the revolution theam? sorry but i was always curious and this seemed the only appropriate time to ask:D

UPDATE! Got mine today. The 589 is DEFINITELY 589. And wow is it bright. It is MUCH more yellow than my Vega 594. No contest. People are gonna be happy. The Vega 15mW and PGL-III-C-589 doing 35-45mW yes its brighter, but the color itself is more yellow, no question whatsoever.

So the 589 is awesome. Hands down.

My 473 however, hmm.. My AqPro seems to outperform it.. It'll be ~40mW to start, (my 30mW AqPro beats it) and rather quickly nosedive down to 10mW. Won't go out of TEM01. Not sure what's going on; will be trying different batteries...

The 589 though, that's a home run.. Folks with the 589s will be VERY happy. Just the color I expected too - definitely not 593.5.

That's a real shame (the blue).

Perhaps the temperature range isn't right.
Try to warm it up a little. A cold start is not always best.
I'm not sure if batteries make much of a difference, but it can't hurt to try some quality 18650s. I would think that if they work ok in your 589, it should work well in the 473.
Maybe the batteries are not fully charged?

I hope to receive mine this afternoon (mail usually doesn't come till 1-2pm here).
When it arrives, perhaps I will be able to offer some more insight.

Hi Glenn, I got my 473 today. Thanks sooo much !!! I just put the batteries in the charger so I can't give out any readings of power out-put YET !!!! Will post them tomorrow. Like a dumb a**, I didn't charge them up & get them ready for the big arrival. I promise to post out-put readings & my own personal comments tomorrow, in this thread. So, like me, y'all have to wait for the Specs. on my 473. I could kick myself for not having a fully charged battery, ready to power this jewel up. Live & learn, I guess. rob

I'm REALLY interested in seeing everyone else's 473-50 readouts...

You guys both got 473-50's, right? (So did I)... Got kinda bummed when after a minute or so the thing bascially looks like its putting out 5mW ... I'm using the readings Glenn quoted me for now presuming that it could be a battery issue -- I hope so.

Glenn did you notice any weirdness with my 473 compared to the others?

Maybe the issue is with the safety dongle or the key switch.
Check that they are securely in place.

Well, no laser today.
Hopefully tomorrow.

Gee... If I knew USPS was gonna be so slow shipping a box about an hour's drive away I would have picked it up myself! Hopefully it doesn't arrive while I'm at work tomorrow...

At this point it flashes bright on startup and immediately dims down to what'd look like an Aq5 pointer... Not suer what can be done here with that :\ Charging up yet another set of 18650's right now, (internal resistance maybe?)

Love the 589 though. The 589 is.. freaking unbelievable, to be honest. Can burn with it. First time I've burned with a yellow.

Hey, at least you got that 20mW over-spec yellow you hoped for!
I hope my blue arrives tomorrow in good working condition... I was hoping to get it today, since I won't have too much time on the weekend to play.

I hope I can capture the color difference on the camera between 593.4 and 589. To me the difference is NOT subtle.

But, yeah, Very interested in how other folks 473s come out. (Just watch, everyone elses' will be doing 90mW :) )

Stop convincing me to spend more money!
I really need a yellow to "complete" my collection... I'm really not sure if I should go with 589nm or 593.5nm. I guess stability and price will be the determining factor for me.

I hope my blue will do 90mW! I would be happy with 60-70mW, though. Even dead-on 50mW would be ok.

By the way, can you tell me more about your Aquarius? I have always liked the PGL-III-A and want one in blue. Is stability and duty cycle good?
