Hey guys here is the third round :beer: :beer: This one is really unexpected. Kevin mailed me if i had time to do one since both he and me have more time on our hands. So i said why not

So last time we had some a few issues. Kevin made it clear that everyone from the last GB is still welcomed to sent their laser back for a replacement (if that was applicable) . Also it seems that DHL shipments in the EU had some extra costs involved. So this time we will use FEDEX for the EU and DHL for the US. Also this one will be a lot shorter. I have chosen to do a smaller time frame GB to keep things from running colossal. Last GB was a 20K total that was a bit much for my taste Also I want you guys to know that this time I am going to give kevin all the time that he needs to process the orders. Last time we noticed a depreciation in quality control due to the fact they were rushed out. This time I put kevin to heart that he must check EACH laser. If he does I don’t know but if he wants me to send an angry mail he should ignore it

Now if you receive a defective unit you will need to make a video about it and I send it to kevin. Then you ship the laser to kevin. If he confirmes the problem you get your shipping and an replacement back.

All customers get chargers! Batteries are not possible. Group buys always have a goal. For this one I am just going to set a closing date. Depending on where we are by then I will decide if it is enough to make it happen. I am sure we will get enough orders :beer:

All payments will be done through PayPal. Note for new members, members with a rep lower than 12 will need to send their payment via “gift” why? To protect myself from scammers of whom order a laser receive it and claim their money back. I just don’t want to get into that stuff since I put a lot of my free time into this and I am not getting payed for it by skylaser or something! I would cry If I made a loss out of my own pocket here lol. Notice that on the cheaper lasers there is a smaller discount this is due to lower profit margins.

With the last GB most of the vets also made their payment as a gift. This is highly appreciated because the remainings will be donated to the forum. Last time we got a 322$ donation.

How it works: Collect orders till closing date -> taking payment (three days to pay)-> Sending order to kevin -> Distribute tracking number.

Also a note to everybody! I will not add more then 1 laser to the current list. Last time it took so much time for me to mail kevin about the availability and price etc. It was not fun!

I had some issues BUT they did get sorted out in the end. I second Blords statement of backing Offroad GBs. Extremely nice guy (you 2 Blord) that I count as a couple of my "real" friends here.

Is that price really correct on the same 520 from the last GB? It sure seems to be checking their site. That's quite an unbelievable drop in $!
Would like to know your and Blords take on whether this is a great buy.
Also, difference between the HL and PL hosts in my opinion is huge. I thought I wouldn't like the PL since it was so big (I have small hands and really like pen style units) in comparison to the HL but honestly the PL feels like twice the unit the HL is and I understand now why so many others wanted their units in a PL host. Given the choice between an HL and PL with the same ratings, I'd take the PL any day of the week. It's entirely worth the extra $. Kind of hard to explain unless you had both in your hands.

Yes, the drop in the HL520 price is astounding. That is almost the diode price.
That is the price you have to pay for the early adopters.
That gives me a reason to mod that laser to 100mW.
We know now that the diode can be push to 100mW-120mW without ill effect on short term.

I think I'm still keeping mine low-powered, I'd rather keep a lower WL on this one-- I wonder when the multimode 520's will come out?

So what are you thinking Blord? Sure sounds like a great deal right now unless they are going to keep dropping so quickly. I don't think they will at this point though. I can't spend the kind of $ that I did last time but could come up with that as work has picked up. What I really want is a 100mw 589nm but don't see that happening anytime soon Too bad it doesn't come in the PL like the one you "made" Blord.

You mustve missed the CNI GB... I highly doubt you'd see anything cheaper than what was offered there...

I asked Kevin a few days ago if it's possible to do 515nm in pointer style and he added that to the website next day with a price of $102 ! It's even cheaper than the bare diode.

That's a great deal on the HL532 300mW. I might get one but it depends where the CNI GB goes.

OR it likely cost a small fortune Have been occupying myself with VERY inexpensive pen mods and Fasttech 532nm module builds for awhile now. Have a "pile" of them at this point. Feeling a bit burnt out after the big pen mod tutorial....

Yeah the price drop for that lasers are amazing. You imagine how levin feels he bought alot of diode back when they were expensive assuming they wouldnt drop this fast. But you still need to compete in the market

The even cheaper 515 pens have different diodes.

HL = Handheld Laser PL = Portable laser (with the case etc.) :beer: so yes the 460 is the normal not pen style host. Blord did a potmod on it and it shines bright! (voids warrantee though)
