what is the duty cycle on the HL405 500mW and HL532 300mW?

EDIT: looked at both laserbtb's site and numerous reviews and came up empty :thinking:

For the HL405:

It gets slightly warm, so I believe I could easily push 7min out of it (the sticker it came with suggested a 10min on/1min off duty cycle, but I don't want to take my chances with that at room temperature). I did, however, take it out on a cold night (~40 degrees Fahrenheit), and I left it on for over 10min without any problems. It took it several seconds to warm up, but after that, it kept stable for the entire run.

Edit: I'm looking at getting both those lasers too so if anyone would contribute their input on what those lasers are like that would be great

good to know for the 405.....that makes me want to jump in on this GB even more......how about the 532nm though? i went back through offroads review and didnt see anything, continuing to look so will update if i find it first.

If it is the same 10 on/1 off then that would be freakin amazing :D

Indeed that's what made me want to get in on this one, just couldn't pass it up. Lol-
But, I probably won't ever run it that long just to be safe..

If i jump on the HL405 will all depend on if the diode i just bought it a PL450 or S06J. if its a PL450 then i will grab a HL405 to complete my basic wavelength collection (need to sell some of my 532nm! have 4 ATM and want to grow my spectrum

The 532 depends on which host and which power.

For example the HL532-300mW gets pretty warm after 3.5 minutes. But if you get the same power in an PL host then you could leave it on for more then 10 minutes and still be good.

the HL405 is a 405nm diode, so it's not the PL450 because that's the HL450. it's hard to say was diode is in the HL405 though.

awillis, i think you miss understood. i just bought a diode, the seller said its a S06J and i believe and hope it is, but he also said there is a 1% chance it could be a PL450 so im waiting to see on monday which diode it really is. if its a 405nm then joining the GB will depend on the 405's power or if it ends up being a PL450

O gotcha! I must have read it to fast and miss understood what you said. But the hl405 at that price is still a steal! Doesn't hurt to have a backup when it comes to 405nm.

Hey man! I got a small stock a while ago. Then i could of ordered them at a discount then. But for now this is no diode groupbuy :( sorry about that. But what diode are you interested in anyway?
