Battery question answered in first post and has been this way for a few GBs iirc

Re: OPEN: Taking orders ROUND 4!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Hope I am not causing an inconvenience- I would like a HL532- 300mW WITH IR filter ($149). Also, I would like a non-keyed cap (along with the keyed cap)..not sure if this costs extra or not. I would like my gift to (obviously) be a handheld mount.

So I think my total is 174$. Just to clarify- I want a non keyed cap AND a normal keyed cap (with key/plug, of course :p). Also, it uses a 16340 battery, right? Just one, or two? Will I actually get any batteries, or will they not be sent, with all this recent battery shipment hubbub?

Hey sure i will add you ! Also thanks for adding the GB in your signature :)

I would recommend to everyone to use IMR 16340's. Only with those cells you can get the max out of your HL532-300mW laser as it pulls a lot of current from the tiny cell. If your laser is not up to spec. I would check the output again with IMR cells before sending back.

Also this is the information of the diode used in the pen 636 150mw:

And this is the info on the 635 10mW diode:

Also there is an update of the 1W PL520. It will cost 990 USD. And you will have a 6 month warrantee on it. Loose diodes are also available. The laser will be driven at 1.1A with a G3 lens.

Greetings,

Robin

How much per loose diode?

What makes IMR 16340's different from other 16340's if they have the same voltage?

Read all of that, some good info in there, but they didn't really specify where I could get some quality IMR cells

AW cells or efest

There is no magic source for the best battery. Its find good brands for sale for cheap

And I want one that has 4.2V instead of 3.7V right?

That's far below the datasheet specification (1.5A recommended, 1.7A max). Strange..

A 3.7v cell will read 4.2v when fully charged. I had a 3400 panny read 4.8v fully charged. I was freaking out and put it aside, interested to see if it still reads 4.8v

IMR batteries are of much higher quality then normal cells. They can drop a massive ammount of amps. Meaning that if you accidently short you have a big problem...

These are recommended for the HL532-300mW because that specific laser demands a high current. Some batteries can not keep up with those currents. (like chinese cells) They make the laser look underspec or very unstable.

I bought mine from a member called "AW" or "wonderlite" here:

AW Li-Ion & IMR Batteries Sales Thread *USA* & international. ***Part 2***

They are the Original producers and sellers of the AW batteries (some bigger cells are protected!)

@ atomicrox Yes i don't know why. But Laserbtb is pretty condervative concerning amps and diodes. I they can get 1W out of it at that current they are not going to push it.

I picked up two IMR's off ebay for about 5$ a piece. Also Offroas, is it possible for me to pay you today? I am leaving for vacation later, and while the hotel will have wifi, I would rather not do paypal on while im there...
