Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Could you please replace the HL808 - 1000mW in my order for a HL650 - 300mW? Thanks! By the way, I think you have the prices/links for those two lasers mixed up in the OP.

Yes sure! switching it now. I just did that to check if you guys were sharp today :tinfoil: lol just kidding fixed it. :)

I understand an IR filter is optional for the HL532. Would you add a note to my order to have the IR filter installed on the HL532?

I believe it is standard.

Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

Just double checking, all of these except the pens will come with diffraction caps and two style caps for the tailcap, the dongle and the plug?

@Offroadfreak. Just wondering about IE's question. If the answer is yes, would those that ordered only one (eg HL laser) still get the diffraction and tail caps?

Hmm, the website has an option to add "Need IR filter in" for a nominal fee. That seems to imply the filter is left out unless requested. Also, the review linked in the original post mentioned a peak of "517mW with 30mW of IR." I assume 30 mW of IR was not passing through an IR filter.

If a 500mW green laser was not IR filtered it would spit out way more IR than 30mW.. Could be that still some IR leaks through.

Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

For the 5mW laser pens i will have to ask again. But what about:

HL445- 500mW
HL445- 1000mW

You requested those? Don't you want them? :tinfoil:

I do, but payment will be due very soon, and my wallet is hurting... with shipping the order is already way over what I should be spending :p

I'm on the fence about the HL445 500mW...

The 1W doesn't make sense to me since IMO the battery would be used up too fast, and there isn't all that much heatsinking, so duty cycle would need to be low.

Okay :) Well the 1W 445 needs 2x 16340 so batterylife would not be too bad dependin on which cells you use.

I will just change the order as you desired in the previous post. :)

How about the PL lasers ? Can they be outfitted with the diffraction caps ?
I have looked my PL532-700 and it seems locktighted.

Please ADD a tripod to my order.

Also, if possible and available, I would like my "Pen-635 200mW" in WHITE. The website shows a white pen with the tripod. I think a pen in white looks pretty slick.

Re: ROUND 2!: THE "Skylaser" (laserBtB) groupbuy!

If a 500mW green laser was not IR filtered it would spit out way more IR than 30mW.. Could be that still some IR leaks through.

AFAIK, 30 mW is still possible without filtering if the construction is of high quality. Filters I've seen block 99.5% of 1064 nm and 99.9% of 808 nm. Suppose (conservatively) that an IR filter blocks 99.5% of IR and there is no leakage around the filter (not sure how reasonable this is). Then almost 6 W of IR is being filtered! But the 808 nm diode isn't outputting 6 W. For the math to work out the filter needs to be quite ineffective.

If you're still not convinced, would you at least humor me and ask for an IR filter to be installed on my HL532? Thanks!

Is there threading on the front...?

There is no threads on the PL host.. No diffraction grating caps possible.. :(

Sure no problem i will put a note in your order!
