So where would I be able to find a 3.8mm diode press? I don't have any machining tools, so that's out of the question. Right now, I intend on buying a DC power supply, this way I can test the diode safely, along with other electronics projects I've been working on.

I asked a similar question in the discussion thread and I'm just going to make my own. Fiddy said drilling a 2.5mm hole into a piece of metal (I assume wood would work too) should work as a makeshift press. if you're in the US and you don't have a 2.5mm bit a 3/32 or 7/64 bit would be the closest size.

i've used the back of an aixiz to press an osram 445 diode into the module

Let LAZEERER fill any orders he wants to fill first. I don't want to stick him with a bunch of reds that he doesn't need. But once he says he is definitely out then I can do one more. After that I'd like to keep the rest of the ones I have ordered right now.

So, to be clear... I'll let you guys both check with LAZEERER when the diodes come in. If he has them I'll let you get them from him. If he is out, or would rather keep what he has, then I'll sell each of you (MJoe and Midias) one diode each at my cost.

I bought one of these 5-Mode 1000mA 7135 Circuit Board for Cree and SSC Emitters - Free Shipping - DealExtreme to use as a driver & I got JLSE making it case neutral do itll work great

I'll be removing one 7135 chip & it should give ~700mA on high mode

it's going to be pretty sick
