I had barley enough to cover my unit and shipping.
i had more but i had to spend alot of it.
To close to call for comfort. so i backed out on my set so i would have a buffer amount to make sure things went smoothly.
And they didnt go so good but i got them threw...
As it is some of the PP fees did not get covered, i forgot that just adding 3% onto your total does not take the fee because then they take 3% of of the amount over.

And i decided to sell off all my other galvos and extra dacs.
So im just going to build 1 super projector
Its just so sad to see all these amazing galvos and not getting to use any of them.

I think one really good projector is much better idea! (I hope)
I am jumping straight to 30k without even having seen any sort of laser scanner except in pictures.
Hopefully I'll be ok..

Trust me going straight to 30ks you will be happy!
i made the mistake of going up in steps.
cost more more in the long run
but a set of 12k galvos
then a set of 18ks
then a set of 20k
and now im at 40k.
Up next will be a set of DT-40 wides

Thanks for the encouragement!

By the way I am about to buy DrLava correction amp PCB board, so let me know if you have something like that which you are needing to sell. Saw you had an audiolase one but I am way too poor to spend more money than needed ATM; saving up for a car.
Out of interest, is the audiolase card more expensive cause its assembled nicely (quality) and fits places?

it features better components and has the proper voltages.
the dr lava correction amps only give a 9v out with the dc converter where the audio lase card gives out the proper 12v.
They both will work, i had both i just sold on Friday my dr lava sound card dac for 45$
If you are buying new the correction board from the dr lava him self it will cost you 43$
Then you will need to buy the sound card itself another price of around 20$
So you are looking at 63$ for a diy kit.
And if you want to upgrade the dc converter to have the full 12V add an extra 2-3$
So around 65$ for a kit or a used one should go for around 40-55$
A used audio lase should go for around 65-85$

However i loved my sound card dacs i decided to buy a RIYA dac plus LSX software suit.
I wanted this unit to be a reliable as possible and the sound card dacs had some issues, both of them.
Every once in a some what rare while i would plug the cards in the comp would detect and no matter what settings i changed they would not work.
I would have to give the machine a full restart.
This is not a huge problem but i just wanted something that was always going to work.

Well the 9v thing from what i was told from another member, TBH i would not be the best to describe it.
I did notice larger scan angle with the audio lase card.
Yes you can mod to have blanking with a lm317 driver.
Just make sure the transistor can handle the "short" your making.
I used one just barely rated to blank and as i stated it got HOT.
But put a post out on here and PL that you are in the market for a used sound card dac.
But you do live far away so remember shipping to you is always going to add more.
But you maybe be able to work out a deal if you forgo tracking, but thats a risk.

I think I will just tackle the hurdles when I get there.

A huge tanks to kiyoukan for running this GB! Mine arrived today. I do have two quick questions. Is there some sort of directions for hooking them up that someone can point me too since there wasn't anything in the box? The second is unless I missed it I didn't see anything to mount the mirrors to the galvos. I did't unpack everything out of the packing materials but there was nothing in the little bag with the mirrors.

those are your spare mirrors.
Take the black plastic tubes off the galvo motors and you will see the mounted ones.
and check sams laser FAQ for answers to most questions.

Got mine! Good thing they have those galvo shaft mirror covers instead of the cheaper cardboard tube of the PT-20ks because the parts were somewhat loose in the box.

Thanks!
