Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

well put me down for a 2W 532. Still skeptical as 2 W 532 pump diodes must be massively powerful. Sta im guessing this has been covered but I had my septum removed today and am in tremendous pain so dont have the energy to look. How trustworthy are these specs?
pm coming about being the lpm tester and shipping and receiving.

Why is no one making noise about their double laser pointers :p.

They make awesome desk ornaments.

olympus, after looking at that sites photo showing them LPMing that 2W laser, and getting 2.12W output, I'd be very suspicious of those numbers, at least in that particular case.
The photo shows them measuring the output with the laser nearly touching the LPM sensor; I wouldn't be suprised if a good portion of that specified reading is from heat, and not actual power.

PS. - Hope you're feeling better soon! :)

Bowtie, with both of my XPL lasers the module is quite far inside the host. So there shouldn't be too much heat interfering with the reading. If you want I can ask for an LPM reading with the laser further away. :)

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc)

Hey Sta, no need to re-measure at a greater distance for me, I just wanted to point out that in general, measuring the output with the laser too close to the sensor can cause erroneous power readings.
When I see the +2W reading on a 532nm handheld, I am naturally curious as to the accuracy, since IMO, this is an impressive number to achieve! :D

Im getting a little interested in the rg yellows. Does anyone have one from xpl here. How well are the beams combined? Thanks everyone!

Good point. FYI if I do the bounce shipping and metering I measure diode to sensor pad at 6 inches. To me this is a true power output. This is looking to be an exciting and also BIG gb. would everyone feel comfortable making a $ per laser donation for the logistics, time, packaging materials and responsibility? if anyone wishes to donate more its is always appreciated but what does everyone feel comfortable with per laser? 10$, more, less? Its important to me everyone feels good and fair about this.
After my close to coming to fruition pgl 589 GB its a lot of work getting all the logistics to meter and ship correctly, getting shipping address's and estimates, charges to differing states, pm'ing each buyer, and international is even more detailed oriented with special care taken to get through customs, ext. Its a good amount of work. Plus if people want videos, pics ext. Im happy to help but also feel some small compensation would be greatly appreciated,

Also big thank you to Sta. I know how much time goes into these GB's and mine was only 12 people. Thanks Sta this is a lot of work on your part.

If the 1w 532 works I want one, provided the beam isn't 7mm wide, my jettlasers 10x expander inlet will only accommodate about 4mm wide beams max. 3mm wide or less would be ideal.

So the other day I told DongXi that he should make an account on the forums he told me he would. But told he sent another message saying "
Sorry, Logan, we can't open your link at all, it is closed by our China, they are closed by our goverment.
Thanks

China has very strict internet censorship. Youtube is blocked there. It is possible this site is for some unknown reason too. I kind of feel bad for them, they can't watch Styropyro's videos:crackup:

Peng followed through!
Here are the test videos for the 1W and 1.5W 532nm lasers:
