To find the fees
Go to paypal's send money page
Enter Jimdt7's email address
Check: I'm sending money to family or friends
- Fees will appear -
Add the fees to your amount
Change back to: I'm paying for goods or services
Send

You can also check the fees without logging in here https://www.paypal.com/gr/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-xborder-fees-outside&countries= Link is for a recipient / seller in Greece, like Jim is.

The fees depend on what country your in. There is retail exchange rate, a cross-border fee, payal's credit card fees. Greece paypal fees

So what's the amount we're actually supposed to pay (presuming we're doing it the proper way as for goods)?

Is it the amount you pmd us? That amount plus 4%?

ideally you would already have $$ in your pp account so the fees are minimal at best... USA -> Greece. i had to drop only $0.27 on $53.75 which is about .5%

Canada to Greece: 3.9% + $0.30 CAD for bank or paypal balance.

No-fee gift may not be available. Paypal says they charge an exchange rate and a cross-border fee for payments to a user in a different country. We just don't usually see it as regular merchants eat the fees.

I would think soliciting PP Gift would be something that could get you banned. You can''t control how folks decide to pay you. Also, the financial transaction between us and you should be private and not visible to LPF.
