Wow, Steve. That's 15 minutes I'll never get back. I have seen enough examples of TEA lasers that just seeing that wasn't enough to get me interested. But, had to wait until the end to find out that no entangled photons were captured. That was a disappointment.

You missed the lesson. That lesson is to show how to conduct an experiment. You've heard the expression: we learn more from our failures than our successes. This is an example.

Yes, we do learn more from our failures than our successes, but this was not my failure. So, I didn't learn nearly as much as I would have if he had succeeded in showing the entangled photons. I did learn how not to do it, but seeing it done would have taught me much more. What he showed I already knew. If he had used a photomultiplier tube or has use a more powerful laser or any of the many things that would have led to success, it would have been something that I could try to repeat. Unfortunately, it was none of that.
