It's always cloudy over Iowa when a celestial event like this happens.

If you point your laser at the sun, be sure to wear those laser glasses for the wavelength that the sun is hitting you with.............your sunglasses. ;-)

Have you ever lased the sun...
Was that you? :cryyy:
After a relatively quiet stretch, it appears the sun is ramping up its activity.

The sun's surface erupted early Sunday, blasting - tons of plasma (ionized atoms) into space. These atoms are headed toward Earth and could create a stunning light show in the process.

"This eruption is directed right at us and is expected to get here early in the day on Aug. 4th,"
You have done it now, the Sun is mighty pissed. We are all going to die! :thanks:

Put a couple black spots on the sun's surface the other day with my 1,000,000,000 watt 445 laser... :p

I'd be careful pointing lasers at the sun - mind you that the optics work in reverse too, and the sunlight could toast your laser diode or dpss unit.

Technicality but if the Sun is going to react at all then it will react in just over 8 minutes, you just have to wait another 8 to find out how it reacted! :na:
