So hey guys, I'm new to the forum and lately I've been crazy about lasers and stuff I can see people doing in videos, made me wonder if I could get into this hobby.
The thing is, to get started I want to buy some low class to try out how to handle them, you know, get to know about them, stuff like that.
Now, I know low class lasers like IIIa and below might not be too problematic in terms of shipping and using in Central America (Costa Rica to be specific) but you know how these internet products get stuck in Aduana and you have to pay more bcoz of taxes and possible harmful products.

So I wanted you guys to tell me, if you live down here in Central or South america or even here in CR tell me about any issues you had ordering any pointer, nobody wants their new toy to get seized! :cryyy: Thank you! :yh:

Hello Smoodle, you should add Costa Rica to your profile so it shows under your name or no one will remember where you're from. If you will remain a member here it's also a good idea to post a thread in the Welcome forum to tell us a little about yourself. You are also invited to post here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f57/countries-lpf-where-you-94536.html and I will add Costa Rica to the list. We have members from many countries, as far as I know you would be our only member in Costa Rica. We did have a long time member in Costa Rica but he left early this year, he sold off all his lasers and was going to pursue a different hobby, I remember he purchased many lasers and parts and had no trouble with them being shipped to Costa Rica but I don't know what kind of taxes and fees he was having to pay. We do have some active members in South America, 3 or 4 anyway, I think only in Brazil and Chile.

Your welcome, glad it was helpful. If you buy from Survival Laser be sure to go to their international site and not the USA site, they sell a few more items that they can't sell to USA customers. Survival Laser International Home

Edit: When you buy from Survival Laser try using the discount code LPF445

I know that he (norbyx), has bought lasers directly from CNI, and had them delivered to Costa Rica with no apperant problems, but that was 2yrs ago, and the laser, a PGL-III-C 589nm, was only an 80mW rated unit.

Edit: Sending you a PM.
