Hello! So... Working 3W 445nm laser. I've been out of the loop for over a year now, slowly coming back lightly. Well, I recall ages ago that the pair that came with the WL arctic -- are crap. The laser's "dot" on the wall, at a distance, is still fairly bright...even when it was a 1W laser. So, I never even wore those "shades" because i knew they were crap to begin with. So. Long ago, I bought a pair of 200nm - 540nm OD4+ 'shades' from some place called Eagle something... Anyone recall this company, and rather or not they're in business anymore? I remember these costing $50 and i really love them. They still have a slim sunglasses profile, but they have rubber pieces such as side shields, And a cupped band that goes to your forhead. So in short, when wearing these, its next to impossible for laser light to reflect off any surface, and hit your eye.

When shining my 3W laser at a white wall and looking at it from 3ft away with these goggles on, the line/dot is solid white, and the brightness of it is equal to a 5mw cat toy... Meaning, its so dim you could look at the dot for a minute, and not have any 'bright spot' seen when you turn the laser off. They dim this powerful laser EXTREMELY well. I want to get new ones because i tested these long ago shining a 445nm directly at the shades to see how they reacted compared to the arctic shades. Obviously took a lot longer to mark the glasses and there was no visable light on the other side. Unlike the WL ones, it was still decently bright blue coming out through the lens.

Obviously laser beams should never be pointed at the goggles/glasses during use as they are design to protect your eyes from accidental flashes, never direct hits, especially for exposed periods. That said. I'm looking to buy a set of 2.

If these cant be found. I'm looking for something similar. THANKS!!

USA yep yep!!! Thanks, Faaaaaar different layout than they were before by far. But good to see they're still up and going. You guys have any opinion on their products/quality? I've never handled very many glasses, I was reading a thread long ago awhile I was waiting for my arctic order, way back when they first came out, and saw some recommend these as a replacer of the WL ones. :)

I've only heard good things about the eagle pair so you can't go wrong with them. They will definitely work if you need them for your custom machined 445nm build. (I saw your thread btw. and that host is awesome! especially for a 9mm 445nm)

I actually have a few pairs myself.
I tested them on my lpm and no light got through so yeah they work good, I highly recommend them!

Can the eagle glasses really lets say you shine the laser directly on them to test and place a camera behind or so to film it how it looks, would they really do something with 3watts of power ?

A better method is to place the glasses between the laser and an LPM but it will ruin pair unless its made of glass.

Or you can move around the glasses while the laser shines through them.
Doesn't ruin the glasses!

Yeah ive pointed a 1W through them before and had no light pass through...the light just got absorbed by the lens. They do make multiple models because I saw some of theres that can block 445 are rated for looking at a 10W dot on the wall and others 100W dot on the wall.... maybe its just me but, ive always seen it as if you have a direct laser hit to the goggles, your doing something horribly wrong... xD
