My family is traveling to Spain next month and I have a few questions. I know there are many, many threads about taking lasers onto flights, but most of them relate only to domestic ones. I've taken my 35 mW laser on several domestic flights and have not run into any problems so far. However, does anyone know if it's safe to take lasers on international flights, specifically, to Spain? In other words, does anyone know if there are any Spanish laws relating to lasers that I should know about?

In any case, I probably won't be taking my laser since I've heard there are thieves and pickpockets there, and I do not want them to walk home with a shiny prize! However, I'm asking anyway just in case I change my mind at the last minute.

I'm sure you can pack it in your checked luggage without any problems (remove the batteries of course). As for laws, I expect they're probably the same as anywhere else in the West (with exception to Australia, but that's down under too) where having a laser isn't going to have the law actively after you, but they are still considered dangerous so don't go parading it around causing problems.
