See article here: Laser pointer imports on the rise: Customs

Australian Customs and Border Protection reports the number of outlawed laser pointers being seized at the nation's border has jumped 60 per cent in the past 12 months, to more than 14,000.

Amazing!!

The customs must have a large collection lasers by now. Imagine 14000 laser in the storage dump...

Very Interesting!
They are probably mostly the Chinese ebay ones that kids are buying though I'd say...

I once purchased a Green Laser thinking it was 1mw from the USA.

3 Weeks later i get a letter from customs saying they seized a 18mw> Green laser pointer.

About 3 pages of warning saying i could be fined $50,000 and 20 years imprisonment etc.

Now i just get my lasers built in Australia from other members. Just like my 1000mw i have. :) Not worth importing them.
