Because while you're wearing the goggles, you can't see how cruddy the laser performance is ;D

I got the sports goggle type for red lasers from Wicked lasers before that stopped selling that model, the same kind that Novalasers sells for green. They're really quite nice, and I wished Wicked would sell them still. Maybe I'll pick up a pair from Nova instead.

On another note, the green goggles I first got, and still own, are red laser sight goggles. They're actually designed for making it easier to see red beams. They're about $20 from hardware stores. Beware that they do the job almost TOO well, making even strong laser beam dots look pretty dull.

Makes perfect sense that they do. If you somehow really hurt your eyes with a laser, you're likely to give up the laser hobby which includes no more purchases from WL. Not to mention it could damage their reputation if you tell your sad story in the pub wearing an eyepatch... In other words: not caring for the safety of your customers is bad for business!

Pretty convincing huh? ;D
