Yeah, its probably the laser putting out less power, due to batteries or something else.
Brightness is not something you develop a long-term insensitiviy for, but how you experienced it depends on the situation too... but even someone used to working with a 200 mW green will find a 50 mW 'darn bright' if you turn one on in an otherwise dark room.

We don't know anything about your laser or how you use it...
If you don't use Laser Safety Goggles and you have received
some direct or reflective hits to your eyes.....
maybe your Laser seems weaker because you are going blind....
Just another theory....
but I would check the batteries first...

I've thought about it more than once. It might be the lasers that go down, but I do also think our eyes or at least our brain "learns" to look at them.
Just for instance, the first time you see bluray your eyes go crazy trying to focus on it etc, but after some days you just see it better!

Another theory could be that the lenses may are dirty, try to clean them

I had trouble viewing 300mw red dots at first, but now I don't have any trouble viewing the dot for long periods of time now. I think I've simply gotten used to it, because if my diode were degrading or something like that, I would notice through its burning ability.
