does anyone know where (and if) it's possible to buy CHEAP (under 30$) universal laser goggles for 405nm, 532nm, 635nm, 671nm, 808nm, 1064nm (and other ,,standard" wawelenghts) ?

If googles blocked all laser wavelengths form violet to ir, wouldn't that make them opaque? :thinking:

The best LASER GOGGLES that I've found, were brought to my attention by another member on this Forum (KRUTZ). They work great for about every wavelength of visible light & for IR also. But for some of the wavelengths, the protection is only meant for stray reflections, not direct hits of long duration, but for MY purposes they are fabulous if a bit pricey. They are made by OEM LASER SYSTEMS INC. The model number is ML7, & they are good for KTP, YAG, RED/IR DIODE PROTECTION The complete part # is NOR-ML7-00000 @ a cost of $156.00. There is a discount code for LPF MEMBERS, which is NOR200801. Besides the cost of the goggles, there is also a shipping fee, which I can't recall right now, but you'll see it on their website. Then you have a variety of FRAME styles to choose from, all are different prices. I chose frame style 38 which is a large, adjustable, framed, fitover style, 'cause I wear eyeglasses. The lenses are a smokey gray color. The website will tell you the VLT % (VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION %) I know that they are a bit expensive but, for the protection that you get from so many different wavelengths + IR, I think they are well worth the money. You also don't have to change goggles when you change the color of laser you're using as these will work for ALL of them. ALL FOR ONE & ONE FOR ALL !!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that this info helped ya out. @GRYPHON- Did you mean googles or GOGGLES, HMMMM ??????? And no they wouldn't be opaque. Only if they blocked ALL LIGHT, visible & otherwise !!!!!!!

Don't skimp on your eyesight. To be honest, people should be spending more money on goggles before their lasers. Lasers, you can replace and buy later on, but good luck trying to buy a new set of eyes for cheap :p

Goggles to block all wavelengths do not exist, your best bet for that would be a sleep mask like the others have posted :p

When it comes to my eyes, protection & anything like the word "CHEAP", DO NOT go together. My goggles cost OVER $150.00, but give me good protection from just about every wavelength of laser light. They are slightly less effective around 650nm-660nm, but STILL offer some protection. After all the research I had done, looking for the "HOLY GRAIL" of laser goggles, my friend KRUTZ turned me on to the pair I own now, MODEL ML-7, from OEM LASER SYSTEMS. Not 'CHEAP', but who wants 'CHEAP' when it comes to ones eyes & you own at least 7 different wavelengths of lasers, (INCLUDING IR). The convenience alone is worth the price to me. Only 1 pair of goggles to wear no matter what laser I'm using, or how much invisible IR is spewing out, I'm protected !!!!!!!!!'NUFF SAID. THANKS KRUTZ.....................rob

Thanks for the info phoenix. I'll be looking into this as my laser hobby grows and I save up some for them.
