Indeed. No person in sane mind destroys a $200 laser for no good reason. Hell, no person in sane mind destroys a laser at all.

Everything can be fixed. Except eyeballs, but they were not damaged, were they? They were not even remotely in danged unless he looked down in the lens trying to get the contact working.

What the heck is wrong with you guys?
I remember you all laughing and praising the "turn your 5$ pointer into a burning laser"
video, in which a member of this forum smashes a laser with a hammer.
I didn't see you crying for HIM to be banned..... :rolleyes:

You sold the laser to him, it's his now, not yours anymore.
He can do whatever damn well he pleases with it.

I say give him the benefit of a doubt, let him redeem himself to be "laser-worthy".
His account is a recent one.

There is a difference between $0.50 1mW red keychain laser and $200 1W 445nm laser.

Former was intended as a joke. Latter is not.

Also, yes, he can do whatever he damn well pleases. We can damn well hate him for it.

This! Im generally not a very diplomatic person due to my blunt and eccentric ways, but sheesh.

If I break another laser on purpose, feel free to ban me. :beer:

Also, it's funny how many neg-reps I got on this thread. Guess it's a good thing I suffer from deuteranopia. :p

They are not blunt and eccentric, they are stupid and idiotic.

And how do you give someone the benefit of the doubt in a case like this? I am not taking this serious, I am taking this realistically. I, myself, wouldn't sell lasers or parts to this guy. I am starting to understand the vets logic...

EDIT: Actually, as much as I hate to say it, anselm is right, give him a chance to redeem himself, but if he trolls again, then he is gonna be at -100 rep in no time. Toaster used to make want to die every time he posted, now he is a great member :beer:

Well he admitted he did a stupid thing and said he was sorry.
I honestly don't believe he is a genuine troll, just a rather "eccentric"
(to say it diplomatically;)) person but I guess only time will tell.
I just hope he learned his lesson and leave it at that.

I get your point, but it's still just a laser, it's not like he chopped up a cat or something.
(Even though I could imagine someone caring less bout a cat :D)
I know we all love lasers, but it's just a diode, a battery, driver and a shell....
Nothing to get so worked up about IMHO

That's just about as much drama as I can bear, so I'm outtta here...

Tikilaser still irks me a lot of times but I have decided to just scroll past the posts when I dont agree. Nothing against him, just dont care for his reasoning. He started here after me, which means that he didn't like what I said, not that I made him want to die. :p

And you spawned the negativity. Its like if you started a fire, then said "Damn it's getting hot" when its an inferno AFTER you threw gas on it.. Its stupid.

Let's all agree that he was an idiot for what he did. Keep that in mind, and see what else he posts. Sick.

@toaster agreed. people simply have their own opinions and perspectives. Nobody is really "wrong" but if the majority of people do not agree, you may want to rethink your reasoning. This applies to all people who post in opinionated threads

@delum: your PM about the build's issues are not on my end. That's something constructed by the end user.....

anyways.....you seem unhappy with it so i'm gonna make you a deal. You can take all the laser components out of it, and return the host/heatsink/blank PCB/focus adapter in the condition I originally mailed it to boosted, and i will buy it back to you for $30.
