The scratches have got to be from customs. I can't imagine them sending out a laser like that. At least I hope they wouldn't... I just ordered an X100 a few days ago. I hope I get a good one.

I just received my x100 a couple days ago and i to am disappointed. As mention by others, my beam is on a pretty bad angle. I contacted novalasers about this and was told that parallelism isn't a feature on the xseries because the added cost to the customer would make it unreasonable. I am finding that over the last couple of days (i have had in home for 4days now), the beam is becoming less visible, regardless of fresh batteries. I am also finding that the black finish is flaking off already. I found a scratch on my lense and there's a yellow piece of metal sticking out just below the lense. I am also finding that the push button only works when it wants too, sometimes requiring excess pressure to activate the laser. Mine is hopfully going back, Although i doubt they will take it. They seem to think it needs to be flawless for a return, even though it wasn't recieved that way. $200.00 for disapointment.. Should've stuck with a PHR-803T and a little elbow grease. WAY more gratifying!!

Why are you scolding him? He did right, he used an old thread instead of creating a new one. What he did is not necroposting for stupid purposes, he must've searched "novalasers disappointment" or something like that and when he got to this thread he included his review since he has the same feeling. I don't see why opening a new thread for THE SAME thing would be better.

got my x100 2 months ago. was flawless in performance and quality. but after a couple of weeks half the paint had flaked off, i sanded it off completely and sprayed it stealthy semigloss black with auto paint, i give a shit about the warranty. if it wouldn't be that freaking difficult to get the module out i would have given it a new host long ago. module is top class, overspecs, nice bright beam and good burner. i read a post a while ago where someone also complained about scratched caps on a x series nova... send the shit back, for 200 bucks you deserve an unscratched unit. for my next purchase i head over to optotronics.

I have herd of the pain chipping off these a lot, which is very odd as I got the same laser from CNI and the caps were perfect and no paint chipping, I have it with me all the time, seems to have a nice finish to me!

I bought a used 2nd had x125 off a guy and just a few days ago the paint started to chip off the bottom of the barrel, though it was kinda odd but im not to worried about it as its an awesome laser : )
