VERY Cool Tripod Setup

So I have long been looking for a tripod that doesn't look quite so blah as your typical bendy legs Tripod. So when I saw the tripod Speedy78 was using for his Hercules, I knew I had found something great. His setup:

So I asked him about where he got it, and he told me off of amazon. It isn't the cheapest tripod out there, but I wasnt going to let that deter me. However, when I was looking at it, I saw a different tripod by the same company.

Introducing the Pedco Ultrapod II Lightweight Camera Tripod. Here is a picture from the site:

So, I purchased that tripod, along with a tripod clamp Speedy78 highly recommended HERE, and they both came in the mail today. Cool thing is, it was fulfilled by amazon and came to me from Houston, TX....just a few hours from me! So shipping time was DEFINITELY a plus!

Time for beamshot pics using my new tripod!

Thoughts:

I highly recommend this Tripod, although I hope none of you get it so that I can look cool alone :p It is very sturdy and a great value. I plan to give this exclusively to the 800mW 532nm PGL-III-C I have coming from the CNI GB. Now to find a good sized case.....

Thanks for gandering,
Isaac

POST thread thoughts: the clamp is VERY good. It has rubber insoles so as to protect your laser, and holds pen lasers on gently and efficiently!

I haven't been jealous of a tripod in many, many years. Well done, sir.

EDIT: The link to your clamp isn't working.

What is the maximum diameter you think that clamp will hold? There's no mention of it on the page.

That clamp is quite nice, I have one as well and it can hold a house. A bit costy but nice.

I'm just wondering if it will handle my SSW. I suppose my other clamp on this tripod would suffice for it, should it come to that.

Was on the phone with my gf for awhile, but yeah it should be more than capable of handling sinner's secret weapon!

EDIT: I had forgotten! With the way this tripod works, the legs can fold in and the velcro strap can be used to attach it to poles or tree branches. Also, you can just set it on your surface in that manner for a sleek "turret mount" kind of look. I am in love with this tripod and I am about to order a second one!

Pics:

In fact, I think that last way is how I will use it a lot of the time. It is still super stable and is very well balanced!!! I am really happy I finally found a tripod that looks as professional as my lasers!

Cheers

Great new setup you've got there!
I won't copy you, and buy that tripod, but I think I will have to pick up one of those nice clamps.
Been looking to replace the old light duty springy type clamp for a while.

For now, your coolness is intact! :D

Im going to have to pick up a few of those tripods. They look a tad bit bigger than the ones I got wich is nice for those heavy lasers. Nice review!
