Just received my pair in the mail today, after it shipping out on Friday. Not bad eh? :) Great pair, and great customer service from Garoq.. (Gary). I was pleased to see that these are quite stylish, which is hard to find with "cheaper" glasses. They are great glasses overall, and I don't think I will ever need them for the IRnm. But if i do, then i'll use these badboys:)

I tested them out a few times, and since they only allow 30% light, it's almost like your in the twilight zone, which is fun when you are bored and just want to run around your house like a moron. (Not implying i do.. :tinfoil: )

I made a quickish video of the packaging, and a quick test with a 10mw greenie.
I tried making it in windows movie maker, but my dumb computer didn't allow me to, so i did what i could with Youtube editor.

I've got the blue/red pair, and I'm really happy with them. They're very comfortable.

I'm very alarmed that you saw any green come through those goggles.

Especially with a 10mW laser!

These are supposed to be od 4, which would mean they should block all but .001mW - which should not be visible to you.

Just did a quick test with a 70mW green and another set off goggles (non IR blocking version) and nothing is visible...

Most Likely Cheap Green laser like this start off Higher then the rated 540nm that these goggle will protect you on. If you look at the DataSheet for these goggle you will see that Right after 540nm is drops to almost 0 protection.IIRC

I can only find the DATASHEET for the orange ones:
http://static.freewebstore.org/templates//58770/myimages/EP-3_OD_vs._Wavelength.pdf

So You will see very little light pass through. THis light is no where near a 1/2mW So is nothing to worry about.

None of my green laser let any light through the Orange Goggles.

Its his pointer not the Goggles.

You are probably right, as my pointer's are from DX, I don't have a LPM so it may be over 10mw, as that is an educated guess. I'm not really sure how people can check the wavelength of their laser, but i'll be getting a few higher powered lasers in the next week or 2, and i will see how it works with them as-well.

That's just it... I use the same goggles as you Lazeerer, and neither of them ever passed through any green light. As you know I have quite a few cheap greens:eek:

Hope you're right though:)

My cheap greenies from DX act the same with both pairs of glasses I own.

They seem to hop wavelengths a lot, since usually the glasses work perfectly.

:drool:You have a laser that hops wavelengths! Holy crapola batman, you must have won the lottery too:bowdown:

Maybe you mean transverse modes?

It actually hops wavelengths. My glasses only protect up to 540nm, yet my green pointer often (but not always) goes through them, although it usually doesn't. This implys a (small) wavelength shift occurs in these cheap pointers.

^^^If that's the case, I retract the ":na:" but I have yet to see a laser hopping wavelengths, despite having a ton of cheaper greenies.

I have also seen this happen with a DX module. Usually just for a brief moment when switched on. However, my Megalaser pointer seems to be pretty solid.

What's with the laser dot going through the goggles on that video?

Notice that i said, that a bit of it pokes through after a while, and it doesn't happen the entire time, so my laser must of been hoping wavelengths.. :D
