Well I have had my RPL for a while now, and I must say I LOVE IT! It is the silver model made in Jan 22 09. Here are the specs:
Dot size at laser head: 1mm
1.03mRad
377mW avg
475mW peak
The best settings for my RPL are
1= 150-200mW
5= 230-250mW
9=300mW
E=350-360mW
and the BEST is setting

F= 330-475mW!!!!!!

ON setting F the laser seems to get a bit more un-stable, but no matter what ITS BRIGHT!!! :D

I was haveing problems with this unit eg mode hopping, and HUGE power swings, and NEVER hit 300mW, but I have found that this RPL does NOT like cold temps at all, it begins to have problems below ~60 F. (Even after warm up)
But that is just DPSS for ya! :D

This laser is awsome, my main siggestion is that opto makes the tail cap more easy to adjust(NO key!!!), and has the settings more easy to read.

Here are some pics!

Overall I am very happy with this unit, (Thanks Luke for the major hook up!!!)

:whistle:
Thanks all,
Dustin

Cool! Nice touch in the pic with LPF on the laptop.

I'm glad you found the problem only to be ambient temp. I agree about the adjustable tailcap, too. It's difficult to use, especially in low light.

Its the little things sometimes :) I am thinking of getting Jayrobs RPL tailcap mod done to it, not too bad of a price either!

Yes, I read that over a few times, and am also thinking about that! Then also wondering if my 1st DIY should be something similar, but probably not as fancy. Something where I still use the key, but in a knob of sorts to push onto the existing tailcap with a snug enough fit to stay, but easily pull off. I do really like the way Jayrob did his though. It's nice engineering!
