^^^Actually I'm gonna have exact twins. Waiting on Max to confirm, but I ordered the newer version from him that runs off of two 16340 batteries.

Think I lost my mind a little today:tinfoil:

The arctic will be the bigger older brother in the family:p

When true version 2 comes out, I'll probably get that too... triplets:D:tinfoil:

No rush on the pic:)

Cool, did he say when the newer version would be out? That's some pretty quick turnaround time from our reveiws to an updated model.

Thanks for being patient

No eta on version two... no rush for me either since my wallet is HURTING right now:undecided:

Personally I would rather Max take his time and explore all the options to build a really nice new laser. I mean for this laser... just imagine, long copper heatsink with diode and drivers in it, g1 or equivalent lens, 3-5 modes of power, o-ring seals on all joints for waterproofing, and the minor mod to the starcaps... it could be a phenomenal laser, and chances are the price will beat the stock arctic hands down, and will could be competitive versus similar models like the o-like tactical. Which btw is going up for sale to aid my hurting wallet:eek:

lol yeah,

Well, hopefully with the input of LPF it will be a great one. With the right mods to it that rifle will been on an Artic Hunt :eg:

but for right now Yob is right, unless you plan on modding it, their are better options.

^^^Lasers made on this forum obviously....

But aside from that, there aren't too many options imho. I mean the o-like tactical is a good laser, but it's also quite a bit pricier. The spartan imho has some serious drawbacks, aside from price...

Jetlasers is great, but again, price is way up there.

Looking for a cool host, with options, from a company... options are kind of sparse actually.

Granted the current model has a very serious drawback. The biggest IMHO being the resin lens... really tempting to torture test it, but even a torture test wouldn't mimic months of normal use with duty cycle.... dust, scratches on lens... even if lens is transmitting light very well now, that could change, and where a glass lens would survive and still work passably... a resin one would not.

@Lazeerer - no rush... I know my last few PM's were very long winded:p

Yes very true and for the Rifle's price its truly not a bad laser. Just the lens, is really only the one flaw (since its listed closer to its actual output)

You have to give him credit... he didn't play the game that o-like likes to play with pure BS... when it comes to slightly underspec units. Three reviews were posted, all showed output of less that a watt. He previously in another thread said the output would be in the 700-1W range, and after I told him in pm he is better of being honest and putting a lower mW rating up, it was done next day.

Absolutely, it seems like he wants to do it right and is taking steps and iniating action to make sure it is taken care off. Him changing the output on his laser is the reason I'm pretty confident he is making changes to his laser to make sure its up to peoples expectations.

but the same goes for his company only time and commintment will tell...

Re: Review of the Rifle Host (Arctic Lookalike) 445nm 1W from Lazerer.com

You are correct sir. :D

Graphed the data for you. :)

Thanks for graphing it..... but
I'm sure I can find a copy of the EagleEye Software
somewhere in the shop to stick the file into to produce
a graph...:crackup::crackup:

I was just mentioning that that .CSV file could be turned
into a gragh without our software that produced it...
(like you showed)...

BTW... I also prefer the smaller look of the Arctic Clone.....

The Laser I ordered a few days ago uses 2 batteries as
well and max said it has a new Driver installed..
I also asked about the lens and possibly degrading or
melting and Max said they have been using a sample of
that lens for over 3 months and has not noticed any
problems with it.
I'll probably be changing the lens anyway to get maximum
power output.
I like the Customer Service up to know...

Jerry

I graphed it for InifinitusEquitas' thread, not for you personally.

My "you" was ambiguous. :p

Whats funny about the title, "rifle host" I scanned my arctic with my phone using Google Goggles for fun, It mistake it as a bridge at first, then it kept scanning the front as a sniper/machine gun's barrel, the ones with all the ridges for cooling/mounting stuff. Kinda made me laugh =D

@Ra1nfade -

Thanks for the pic. I misunderstood what you meant in your post before.
