the problem is they made a mistake. I payed for 2 lasers and they sent only 1. My account says it is shipped and delivered, but that counts for only 1 laser. They also admit that they sent only 1. My problem is just that I'm not getting the 2nd, which I payed for. Send PM if you want to see payment details and the e-amil discussion I'm in with laserbtb. So far they keep on saying that I will get the 2nd laser, it's only that I'm not seeing it delivered at my doorstep.

Nice review- I do however wonder how long it will last- Did I miss the recommended duty/rest cycle?
looks a bit overpriced as Aixi sells a 26mW 515 ready to drop into a host- and needing around 5 vdc- the driver is embedded into a standart AixiZ module- so the red/balck wires are there- I ran one for 1 minutes in the poorly fitting module holder tese come with (way too small and loose fit) I now see that AixiZ has upgraded this module to one that fits better and has some fins- I would still however suggest it be built into a much better heatsink be it for a labby or handheld. Price is currently $85 on these- and AixiZ(Houston TX) is well known for their great customer support- I would like to see a review on this one by LED M..
so far AixiZ does not suggest the duty/rest cycle so I would think we should err on the side of caution-- I have a few here if anyone wants to PM me. +5 to the OP of this review--

If they sent 1 what is the problem sending the other.. dont understand that... i dont know if they normally ship 2 lasers in same box they should let you know if there is any problem or delay why not shipped the second one yet reading here only positive stuff about them.

What does it say in your orders on the site on the second one ?

Are these greens prone to heating up? I have an 80mW red in that same pen host from laserbtb and I ran it for upwards of 45 minutes one time with no adverse effect and no heat whatsoever.

sorry for going a bit off topic-- not meaning to de-rail your thread-

I ALSO suggest those wanting to discuss the failed delivery to another thread-as that has very little to do with this review-

here is a link-
http://www.aixiz.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/446/osCsid/6fd7345bb1f6d3c88c7f51dfc3a4cc93

If you want one i suggest you ASK for the NEW finned Heat sink- I ran some for more than 10 minutes in the old heat sink these originally came with & it barely got even warm- Any good sized handheld heatsink especially in coppor *should* allow 10 minute runs w/o any heat problems- 515nm is a very nice shade of green- and I have been using a Li-ion 3.7 volt battery with good results-- When these first came out at AixiZ I TRIED to start a 'murder fund' to get one for to -the -death testing and og=feered to put the first $$ into the 'hat' BUT another member wanted instead to argue & I gave up that idea even thoght I am 100% correct saying that in THIS form factor these have not BEEN TESTED TO DEATH- My offer still stands and would rather have someone like The_LED_M-- do the tests--
I took & sold five of them to SELEM and all got good reviews- and none so far have failed.
I can offer one with a JADD 12X30mm heatsink inside Guardsman host(from moh) for 100$ with free CONUS ship-- only one offered ATM at that price.

edit- Frpm my experience most red pens can be ran a very long time- as they seem to, in general, have less need for good heatsinks. it can be a mistake to compare different wavelengths in this fashion- as 80 mw of red with 80mW of blue- 405 or any green lasers may not mean all that much. Same goes for comparing how 'bright' some lasers are- 500mW of 405 is way 'dimmer' than the 26mW 515. But the 405 will burn in an instant while the 515 does not .

This laser does look like a Skylaser unit. I have seen a few sites reselling their products, which, according to their website are actually manufactured by them.

laserbtb

It appears that Skylaser is the manufacturer and LaserBTB is a separate affiliate division responsible for customer service and sales.

I can not agree. Delivery of the goods is thé most important part of the deal, and should be part of a fair review. Where is the value in knowing that a particular laser is good, when the company that produces it isn't capable of delivering it?

BTTT: Added a photograph showing that the unit still emits light when you think it's off; also performed spectroscopy of this weak emission.
