Hey everyone. I recently aquired some uranium marbles and the last two prisms from Coconuts. I got a 405nm pen as a gift because I bought for 60$. Because I'm so satisfied with this sale I wanted to make a review about it. Please be aware though that this is my first review so it might not be what you expect of it.

Anyway, let's start the review already!

Delivery
This can be summed up as "fastest shipping ever". Coconuts shipped the lasers on friday and the next week tuesday they were delivered here in Belgium. That's 4 days from USA to Belgium. :D

The goods were shipped using first class mail and I received a tracking number.

10/10

Packaging
This stuff was packaged to survive an all out war! Everything was tightly packed in multiple layers of bubble wrap. The marbles and lasers were packed with bubble wrap but the prisms even had multiple layers of paper, plastic and a box to keep it from harm.

The marbles
This is my first time buying something fluorescent and so I was pretty astonished to see this with my own eyes. All marbles give a nice greenish glow when hit by the 405nm laser I got and you can see the beam pass through it as a thick greenish beam. Very nice!

I ordered 4 different types of marbles as you can see in the picture below. The left marble (the white one) doesnt fluoresce a lot but I guess that's because of the coating. It still shines very bright when hit by 405nm photons though!

The second marble from the left is clear with two blue spots on the side. I especially like this one because you can pass the beam through and the blue spots will also light up.

The third marble is crackled which looks really cool when shone on by the laser. the last marble is completly clear and is nice to see the beam pass through it.

It's hard to get the beam to show up on my cellphone camera, the marbles look like they're radiating green light.

When playing with the settings it got a bit better though.

The prisms
These were also my first prisms so I can't really compare them to other prisms but they are made of glass, have two matt-finished sides and a back mirror which allows for cool beam bouncing.

The laser
Because I ordered for 60$ I could choose a free laser pen. Because I ordered the uranium marbles and I didn't yet have a laser to what this would react, I chose the 405nm laser pen.

The laser is your typical penstyle laser with a button on the side to power it on. The button must be held to keep the laser on.

I used two Duracell rechargeable batteries and the laser pumped out an impressive 41mW of violet light. As the laser is marked as a <5mW laser I am very happy with this. Coconuts even offered to send me another one that's more overspec but that's not necessary for me. Great service though!

The dot is clearly visible and you can sometimes even see the beam when there's a lot of dust or smoke in the air. I also love the blacklight-ish light it gives off.

When you shine it on anything but white then the dot appears violet but when you shine it on something white then the dot appears light blueish.

Overall
So overall this sale gets a 10/10 for me. Coconuts is very nice and everything was packaged really good. That and it was shipped hella fast

Because I know you all love pics and vids, here have some :)

Thanks for the review. I haven't used my prism but I did look at it. A fine piece of optical glass.

Sorry for bringing back another old thread, but where can I buy a nice cheap 405nm in a pen style host like this one? And also what batteries did this one run on?

I would look around ebay for one. You can find them pretty cheap and they will almost definitely be overspec'ed. And thanks for bringing up this old thread cause now I know that you can buy uranium marbles! Which I will most likely be doing in the near future:evil:
