Printing another ARGMeter case right now, I increased the extruder motor current and increased the bed temperature so that should cut down on the warping.

I tried to set slower print speeds but my extruder was having trouble gripping the plastic filament at 5mm/s

Found a place for cheaper plastic as well, 35$/kg :) 40$/kg for GITD (Do you still want GITD awillis? :p)

how much would it cost to get a standard color case v. GITD? also is the GITD blue plastic white or blue when in daylight?

No idea, I wish I had a sample of the GITD plastic.

The cost depends on the final weight of the case with the lid.

Personally I like the red and thinks it looks good for the case but if not the black or white is fine.

Maybe you could contact the suplier and get a sample or atleast a picture of the plastic

Black or gitd green either way I would be happy. I would say get the stuff you would actually use and there's not much of a price difference between the two.

Holy, that looks sick!!!! I want one now, start that printer up

In the spirit of ARGmeter and Peregrine my case will be open source  When I am done with my case design I will get it posted somewhere for download and those who know how can customize it as they please. (as long as Arg and rbc are ok with it because they also had influence in the design)

got an idea! ok so I was talking about adding feet to the side where the ARGMeter is so that what I will stand better, but what if you used the LPF laser logo like Moh did on his focus adapters but connect them in a rectangle with a logo in each corner??

That would be cool but that is something I will try once I get everything located correctly then I can really jazz it up ;) I was also thinking about just making the letters recessed instead of protruding....

protruding may be better for printing, I haven't tested out recessed lettering though, would be interested to see how that prints out :)

I can just send you the one side of the box with the lettering to try recessed ;)

Update

Alex I just sent you a recessed test panel to try if you want to save time and material!

Actually recessed will be easier to print. You don't have the overhang to deal with if the lettering is recessed into the case. My printer is down at the moment. I ruined a tip by going back and forth between different types of plastic. (or I assume that's what did it) This is the second time this has happened. No problem, I ordered two more from Colin and they should be here tomorrow. If anyone here is thinking of getting into 3D printers, check out Makerfarm. The guy that owns/runs it is an awesome guy.

Personal issues/problems/life come before lasers so no worries! Thanks for all of your help thus far and hopefully there will be a final product for you when you get back. GL with your emergency
