they're both great companies. I actually like laserglow personally as they're closer to me and have amazing customer service. but ultimately they're both great. I'm assuming you want to get a class IIIa in all colors. if that is your eventual goal, then you can get all laserglow products at a slight premium but have that great CS backing them and fast turnaround for issues you may or may not have, or order elsewhere for the common colors.

alternatively, you could make your own.

for the exotic colors such as yellow (589nm), yellow-orange/amber (593.5nm), and light blue (473nm) then you I would hang around the group buys and grab those from CNI at seriously discounted bucks $$$

or if you feel really fancy, you could jump into gas and start collecting class IIIa Helium Neon lasers, as you can see I have a CNI 593.5nm for my pointing, but for my home experiments, I use a HeNe. far better stability and runs as long as i want. and looks cool. but also very expensive

Well I don't really have alot of money.

Laserbtb could complete my rainbow(to some extent)...and as I get more money I could sell those off and buy the LG ones?

you'd spend more in the long run, but that's certainly an option. you'd lose out on shipping and resale will not usually fetch as much as a new pointer.

Or I could just get laserbtb's pointers for the rest of the wavelength's? They offer 515nm and LG do not plan on adding any more wavelength's...so I could buy that one first or should I get the color's LG dosen't offer?

Is their any other place which sells high quality lasers with alot of wavelength variety? CNI is more expensive then LG...640nm is $240...

Your need for matching is going to limit you and possibly run you broke. Be open minded. Nothing wrong with wanting pens, but they not all need to be from one place. A variety will be nice in a collection.

Yes, I guess laserbtb is good for me right now  Can't really afford the "Top Quality"

It seems their 650nm is the cheapest one they offer. Anyone know if it's any good?

And would you consider 515nm rare?

Thanks.

anything other than 635 or 650 is going to cost quite a bit most likely. as they'll have to be DPSS or lab diodes most likely. my 680nm is a blue sky research diode the 685s are fujitsu diodes i believe. 640 is also fairly uncommon.

edit: 515 has now been eclipsed by 520 (both again are lab diodes)

yeah, that's not too bad for a good quality red.

Alright! And this is going to sound idiotic and make me look stupid but since China is in holiday's which shipping do you recommend?

DHL 3-4 Days: $22
Airmail 10-16 Days: $12

Thanks for the help

eh, I'd just go cheaper unless you want tracking. but if its only a cheap red pointer then i'd not be too worried.
