Hello Everyone! This is my first post :p

My name is Hayden Barton, I am 15 years old (currently lol, I may be older if you read this at a later date) And i make product reviews for companies. The types of products i review are Gadgets, Computers, Games, Electronics, Weapons, Archery and everything else cool, but i also love LASERS!!! I may not have any videos of some of the things in that list, but that is what i will be reviewing on a whole.

You can find my Review Channel on YouTube, called TechBiteReviews, the link is here:
TechBiteReviews's Channel - YouTube

So anyways, enough about me :na: On to the review!

I have included the Unboxing and Review videos at the end of the post! after some of the sections of writing I have included the video to watch and the time to skip into the videos so you can see what i am talking out in that section.

So today I will be Reviewing a Waterproof 200mw Red Laser from Texas Laser Systems.

Whats in the box?
The Laser came in a well packed cardboard box from, it should of come from Texas Laser Systems but they was an error with the postal service or something, so they had to send it from there Chinese supplier.
In the cardboard box was the lasers box and a battery charger with a US plug socket for the included 18650 battery that was included (which I will talk about in a moment).
The lasers box was distinctively marked on the top with the words 'Laser Pointer' and a picture of a pointer lasing, all of it in shiny gold printing (Image 1).

[Image 1]
SAM_1681-1.jpg

The lasers box lid was secured down with 2 magnets, keeping it closed. Inside there was the lasers wrist strap in the bottom left corner that attached to the laser with a simple loop. The 18650 Ultrafire Li-ion battery rated at 3.7v & 2400mAh, Turning the battery round shows some small writing that mentions ''Short-circuit and Over-current protection'' so the battery has a built in protection circuit which is always a good thing to be included. And in the top was the laser pointer (Image 2 & 3).

The Laser
The laser give a steady feeling to the hand, it seamed well made and gave a real RUGGED look with a nice shade of grey.
After switching it on, a cloud of precious red light poured out of the end of the pointer. I screwed the focus ring all the way down until it could not be turned by hand any-more, i then counted how many turn it took until it came off the threads, into my hands, it took roughly 5.5 turns for it to come off.

The Laser 'DOT'
When the focus ring is screwed all the way down, the dot from about 2 metres away is around 2 inches in diameter (Image 4). Between ~1/2 a turn and 4/5 of a turn, there is a smaller, little circle of read light separate from the main laser, i suspect this is a small scratch or something on the focusing lens (Image 5).

Burning Tests!
This laser will light matches almost instantly, cut electrical tape, burn skin, make plastic smoke and lots of other things too (yes, it will burn ants).
[Skip 2 minutes 55 seconds into the video to see the Burn Test]

Waterproof Tests!
The laser worked very well being submerged in water, after taking it out i dryed off the outside casing and checked inside for water, but non could be found!
[Skip 4 minutes into the video to see the Waterproof Test]

The Specs Of The Laser
Laser Power Output = 200mw
Wavelength = 650nm
Focus = Adjustable
Body Material = Aluminium
Switch = Constant On/Off
IR Filter = No
Averaged Life = 5000 Hours
Waterproof = Up To 150ft (45.72 metres)
Warranty = 1 Year

So What's The Price?
$90 (USD) or ~£55 (GBP)

Conclusion
I think this is a great laser, has high power and great looks with the added extra of being waterproof!

Hmm nice review, most people seem to think they are a scam including me. I have never seen a review of one of their lasers before. The laser seems to be 200mw, but without a LPM test you cant be sure. My 1.2w 445nm is the same host and it also works great underwater.

Edit: that is very overpriced, just letting you know. O-like, and Lazerer offer way better prices.

You could of gotten this and it would be the same power maybe a little bit more (says guaranteed overspec), and come with a power certificate to verify the power. And it would of been way cheaper.

LZCB - 650nm 200mW Water Proof Red Laser Pointer

Thank you :) and i think there a good company, i keep in contact with them often and i SHOULD be review a 1W blue 445 laser of there's sometime very soon (i will post it on LPF). I will most likely be reviewing many of there products.

The reason i think people think there are a scam is because they did not return emails or anything, am i correct? They also did not reply to me, which was unusual, but when they did they gave me an understandable reason, all i will say is 'money' and no more as i dont think they would like many people knowing. but there seam to be slightly back on track now :)

Ahh, i understand, i will change and take that out now :p

Thanks!

They do, just when they was trying to ship it to me they had a problem with postage service or stamp or somthing and it got returned to them twice, so they decide to just ship it straight from there supplier lol :gun:

There is still something strange about them. Also they sell SKYlaser lasers and you can just get them from the actual manufacturer cheaper.

It is called drop-shipping.

They do not have actual product in stock. You order from them , they tell Chinese company to ship it to you.

Simple as that.

I will see if the next laser they send is from china :p I don't know if it is or is not, but i will see next time i review one of there lasers. But i suppose, if you receive the laser then there is no problem in where it is from :)

That is very nice review :)

Thank You! :D

Dude, I just ordered a laser from them this past Monday.. which would have been November the 5th, 2012. I've been checking on the order status every morning since.. which has been the past three mornings including this morning.. and the order status still says "processing". I noticed that it says on their site that it the processing generally takes up to two business days.. which, today, would be the third day.. so I'm thinking that the order status should have changed by now, but its still showing "processing".

Man, I'm really hoping I haven't gotten ripped off.. AGAIN!! This will be the second time I've gotten ripped off in a month and a half!

But, so.. you really got yours from texaslasersystems.com eh?? How long did it take for your order to arrive?

I've tried calling the phone number on their website.. and all I've gotten in return is a recorded message. I've left my phone number on the machine.. but I've never gotten a call back. Same thing with the "support email".. I've emailed them asking if everything is alright with my order.. and I've never gotten an email back from them.

Which is why I'm really wondering how you were able to get something from them.

I guess I'll wait it out.. and see if the order status changes. If it hasn't changed by 3pm tomorrow afternoon, I'm just going to assume I got ripped off and I'll just have to go ahead and take the appropriate actions and report the website and the hosting company that's hosting the website.

If you could get in touch with me man, that would be greatly appreciated, as I'd love to hear how your shopping experience with T.L.S. went.. and I have a few other questions too.

Thanks.. :|

Ohhh... alright. Now that I've read all the comments in here about TexasLaserSystems.com ---- I'm kinda feeling alittle more at ease I suppose? I mean.. if they don't want to talk to me or email me back, then that's fine.. I just want what I ordered.. or my money back if they don't want to send me what I ordered.. simple as that.

I just need some reassurance that they're legit and not a scam.. because as I mentioned earlier, I already got ripped off once and don't feel like getting ripped off again you know? :scowl:

I'm with you on that. I'm having the same problems with my order from T.L.S., as mentioned in this thread. Such as, nobody answers the phone.. you just get a recorded message and if you leave a message on that recorder, you never (or at least I've never) get a return call. Also, the "support" email for T.L.S. is the same experience as when you try calling the phone number. I've sent at least 3 to 6 emails to them.. and I've not gotten one single reply email in return.

You know, I don't really care how T.L.S. does business.. I really don't, but its the whole "principle" of the matter, you know? But again, I don't care how they/he go about doing business.. I really could care less. All I'm wanting is to know if my order is on its way, that's all I'm wanting to know. But yeah, as long as my order arrives here on my front door-step, they can do business how ever they want to.. I just want what I ordered or I want my money back.. its as simple as that, period.

Anyways, yeah.. TechBite - let me know where you were going to put your reply to my questions so I know where to go look so I can read them/it. And again, I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me about this whole T.L.S. thing. Appreciate it more than you'll probably ever know my friend.

Oh, and yeah, I too agree with you about this being the first actual review of a laser that someone has bought and recieved from T.L.S. - kind of makes me feel like I at least have a 50/50 chance of actually getting the laser that I ordered.

Peace.

P.S. - I appreciate everyone else around here for sharing what they know about T.L.S. - Greatly appreciated. Thanks! Have a great weekend everyone. :tinfoil:
