I most certainly did Jay. You're way ahead of me though, I saw that demo of yours before I even started looking into building laser guns. Again that's just awesome! Looks like I need to get some balloons or matches hehe.

I've just managed to make work what I've got so far, but from here I have a lot of improvements in mind following what someone like you has done and made possible. Nothing but respect man, thanks for sharing

Words fail me DTR, this would have never been if it hadn't all started with your maglite build. As with Jay, I can't thank you enough. My new thing now seems to be laser guns hehe

I would give Jay pretty much all the credit on that one.

Well too bad sir, your name is in its title now & I think you're just as deserving as Jay ;)

I greatly envy both of you also... and feel forever in debt for the massive amount of information, knowledge and most certainly for the help and assistance I've gotten when things were difficult and not working out. There aren't classes (aside electronics) that I'm aware of that teach what I've learned from you both - as well as several other valued members of this forum, so I truly credit everything I've learned thus far without ever forgetting where it all came from.

Sorry to sound like a kiss ass here (started drinking 1/2 ago heh) but you guys are some personal heroes of mine. Thanks to people like you I can now officially say I BUILD LASER GUNS :D

X 10.

If I had a meter, for time spent inbetween jayrob, and DTR's builds, tutorials, and review threads, it would be ten times over every other thread on LPF combined.

I feel like alot of stuff I had questions about, jayrob and DTR's threads were the only one's that were really upfront about them. While I had trouble understanding elsewhere, if that makes sense. What I'm Trying to say, they were easy to follow

SOG, look at the post date, unless you have something good to add to an old thread, you shouldn't bump it :)

EDIT: it's from better off dead.

Can I bump it following your bump with more useless information and confirming the movie title in question? ..doesn't really matter to me, but thanks anyways :) I'll update the OP sometime soon after the prototype guns are final too

Anyone know of a similar trigger grip that works with smaller diameter flashlights?

I might rhd, though I'm not sure I fully understand what you're asking here.... I've been on this project for almost a month now, I'm happy to contribute specifically however I can

Basically, I've been watching the LiteGrip site for months, hoping they would come out with one that would fit smaller hosts like the 501B, or really anything other than a super-large diameter MagLite.

Even a trigger grip that just closed a simple switch with leads would be fantastic. It seems that such a thing is difficult to locate though, and I can't really think of a real-world product/accessory that I could re-purpose.

Well I have not, but my immediate guess would be that they haven't evolved past their main prospective of making a maglite into a 'gunlike' handheld flashlight with that awesome handle they've come up with. Even if, their litegrip can be customized to fit any host with some thought and determination IMO - - - however.....

Even a trigger grip that just closed a simple switch with leads would be fantastic. It seems that such a thing is difficult to locate though, and I can't really think of a real-world product/accessory that I could re-purpose.

In the interest that you're seeking a 'lasergun' like circuit or anything similar which would include 'firing a laser' by means of squeezing a trigger on a lasergun.... I've simplified this concept and (with the genius of HIMLN9) concocted a circuit allowing any laser-gun like toy (what I used) to function as a pulse-firing laser gun using a typical handheld laser. It was simply a matter of extending leads from the primary laser to match the 'closing/on' circuit of any laser gun when firing. In short, on any 'firearm' (toy or not) - when you squeeze the trigger the laser fires accordingly, mocking the shooting of the actual firearm but with a laser pulse!

If I am offpoint or misreading here, please forgive me. Sorry for the (bricks of thought) also but it seems necessary to concentrate on the point I'm getting at here  I need to update the OP once this is all perfected and finalized, it's been an ongoing prototype!

OP Updated!!!!

I've been wanting to say that for awhile now but it's taken until now to make it all possible. I've made 2 toy laser guns into real, monopulse firing laser guns just like in the movies :cool I couldn't have done this without the assistance, help and patience from a very respected member on this forum. The information is at the bottom of the OP, I hope you enjoy
