Thanks for the review, this'll be perfrect for my PHR. Do you think the driver would work with 2.4v input (2x NiMH Batteries)? Also, what are all the available resistor values (for setting the current)?

Yes, you can use NiMH batteries. I often use NiMHs to power the PHR@100mA in my signature. No major issues except a bit shorter run time. Anyway, NiMH batteries are ~1.4V at full charge and gradually drop when discharging.
About the resistor: not sure what do you mean, but you can find the needed value through dividing 120 by the desired current. So 120/100mA=1.2Ohm and 120/120mA=1Ohm. Keep in mind that the actual current value will be less due to the lower input voltage.

What I mean about the resistors is that you can only buy certain resistor values due to industry standards. Say that I want a PHR running at 125ma. Using your calculation, I would need a 120/125 = 0.96 ohm resistor. However, 0.96 ohm resistors are rather difficult to find, so the closest one I could settle for would probably be a 1 ohm resistor. You mentioned that the current can be set to 180, 120, and 100ma with 0.68, 1, and 1.2 ohm resistors respectively. What other resistor values are available with this driver (and thus, what other currents could be set)?

You can set it at any current you want provided it's in the operating limits of the driver. Two resistors in parallel can also be used. I don't recommend using single 0805 SMD resistor, it may overheat. Either use two in parallel or a bigger one (1206 or so).

I ordered three of these drivers, and just got them yesterday. I tested them with a test load, and found that they hadn't been set correctly. I asked for all three drivers to be set at 110mA and although they wrote 110mA on the bag, this wasn't the case. At 4V, one was set at 121mA, one at 240mA, and one only at 1.5mA. I'm a little disappointed.

I'm not sure what do you mean ... maybe that the Rayfoss web site is down? If so, you can contact Faona directly using this e-mail:
rayfoss.com [at] hotmail.com

From what I've heard Rayfoss is going to be back online soon.

What is that laser? Red or blu-ray? Because this driver is suitable for blu-ray diodes only.

this is red laser, 300-350mw, it stronger....
I did get a Blu-ray laser, but use it as the LM317T, supply is too high, 7.2-9v, irrelevant when put under the small body, use battery 14500, this is my Blu-ray laser, PHR-803T (sorry, my English quite bad)

this is my driver, LM317T

The Rayfoss blu-ray diode driver will do good job powering a PHR. When ordering ask Faona to send you a driver pre-set at the wanted current.
When you receive the driver make sure it really outputs that current as bryce007 already reported receiving improperly set drivers (post #22).
You can also set the desired current yourself but you'll have to do some SMD soldering.
And don't forget to add a capacitor to filter the output. I'm going to add a picture to the review soon.

thank Lazerov.....
but... bryce007 see if such a case, can meet you to share, far longer than I, so afraid to talk a bit error in matters relating to the driver, I really need accuracy, this can Good stories do not?

hi Lazerov...
Did you know this?
Coherent Inc. : LaserCheck
I want to buy it for tools to accurately measure the capacity laser, but not very pure, you know any similar instrument? I saw on Youtube a product category that is very compact, but do not know that buying or self-employed?

+1 for you.

I, though, would like to see the same measuraments on higher currents :D

Thanks!

How higher current? :D 180mA maybe?
I think this driver could withstand even 240mA but would require additional heatsinking (don't quote me on that though).
